HOMECOMING 2024

Friday, September 13 will be our Homecoming game against Lometa at 7:30.

Homecoming parade will be on September 13 beginning at 3:15. It will begin at the high school parking lot, follow the Bulldog Mile, and end at the elementary drop off. We will then go to the gym for our Homecoming pep rally.

END OF SIX WEEKS

Friday, September 13 is the end of 6 weeks. This grade check will be for ELIGIBILITY. Any student who is failing any classes at this grade check will be INELIGIBLE for extra curricular activities for 3 weeks. Please monitor your child's grades in Parent Portal and encourage them to get all work turned in.

5,000 BOOK CHALLENGE

Our goal as a campus is to read at least 5,000 books this year. Because reading is so important in every aspect of life, we are encouraging every student and staff member to spend time reading each day.

Here are our results for the month of August:

STAFF: 130 books

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS: 429 books

JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS: 34 books

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: 4 books

TOTAL BOOKS READ IN AUGUST: 597 books

Please encourage your students to read at least 20 minutes each day. A great way to do this is to turn off all devices for 20 minutes each evening and have everyone in your home spend time reading. Research shows that kids are more likely to read if they see their parents reading.

Books are available in every hall for students to borrow.

FCCLA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

Our award winning FCCLA will be hosting their annual membership drive next week. Membership is open to all high school students who are currently enrolled in an FCS class with Mrs. Estrada or have been enrolled in an FCS class in the past.

Dues are $25. Any student who pays their membership dues by Tuesday, September 10 will receive delicious treats all week from FCCLA.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

We will have an early dismissal on Friday, September 20 at 2:00 to allow students and fans to travel to Midland TLCA for the junior high football game at 5:00 followed by the varsity game at 7:30.
