Daily 3 Math Centers
How to use Daily 3 to make your math centers rock!
Busy Hands, Busy Minds
One place to start ensuring your students have "busy hands, busy minds" is during independent centers. A study by the department of education found that “(t)eachers who conduct hands-on learning activities on a weekly basis out-perform their peers by more than 70% of a grade level in math and 40% of a grade level in science.” You can build independence and focus by providing your students the opportunity to work with materials in independent centers. Check out the link below to read more about hands on learning.
Organizing centers
Its important to set clear expectations for center behaviors, center routines, and center work during independent center time. Check out Daily 5 and Daily 3 below to make start teaching awesome centers.
