BHMS Reach for the Heights Fundraiser
We're on an exciting journey to reach our goal, and we need your help! So far, we’ve raised an amazing $1,147 in donations. That means we only have $2,853 left to go until we can host our very first School Social of the 2024 - 2025 school year!
Imagine the fun and community spirit we can create together! Remember, just $40 from each family will bring us closer to our ultimate goal of $20,000 which will go directly toward the educational benefit of all students . Let’s join forces and make this happen! Every contribution counts!
Family Assignment Planner
Hello families, this year we are excited to announce our Assignment Planner that will be visible to families. Please open the link and look for your student's teachers by grade level. Teachers will update important dates and due dates on this document, or refer you to where to go to find that information. Please let us know if you have any questions, and we hope you will find this tool useful for helping your students stay on top of their assignments.
BHMS Dream Team 24 - 25
We are so excited to get started with DREAM Team this year. We are the student council for our school. Our group's mission is rooted in our DREAM core values (determination, respect, equity, achievement, and mindfulness) and in Sources of Strength. Our goal is to support a positive and healthy community for our school.
Everyone is welcome to join DREAM Team. We meet every Tuesday from 8:00am - 8:37am in the BHMS library. You can enter directly into the library from the door near the front entrance parking lot.
Our first meeting will be next Tuesday, September 17th. We are looking for parents who are willing to donate single-serving snacks to our group. You can send them in with your student on Tuesday morning or drop them off at the front desk. Thank you so much! Snacks are fun!
We look forward to meeting you all!

BHMS PEN
PEN is equivalent to a PTA or PTO. We are a group of parents and staff working to engage BHMS parents and caregivers
in an effort to support our teachers, students, and families. We help coordinate and sponsor school functions and activities, organize fundraisers, and distribute helpful information to parents.
Broomfield Days Parade Saturday, September 21st
BHMS will walk in the Broomfield Days Parade again this year. It would be wonderful if you wanted to bring the family and walk with us (wearing your Falcon gear, of course!).
Meet at the staging area between 8:15 and 8:30. The parade runs from 9:30 until about 10:30. Students are welcome to come and need a parent/guardian to meet them at the finish. (Wagons are fine, no bikes or scooters, please)
To make this event a success, we are calling on adult volunteers to join us in walking with the group. Your support will help ensure that everyone has a fun and safe time! Come be a part of this exciting celebration!

Battle of the Books (BOB)
The 24-25 Battle of the Books list was released early this year! Visit the BVSD BOB website to read more about the program and see the books on Middle School lists.
Students need to find teams of 4-5 people, as well as a sponsor, for their team. Teams MUST be registered with Mrs. Rule (jolene.rule@bvsd.org) by October 18th.
The reading list is available on the BVSD website if students would like to get a head start on reading! Mx. Brandin has pulled these titles in the library, Mrs. Rule has purchased all the books, and most titles will also be available as ebooks and audiobooks in Sora in October.
Parents, if you would like to sponsor a team, you will need to ensure that you are following the volunteer process on the BVSD Website. Please contact Mrs. Rule if you have further questions.
Counseling Corner - Resources for Discussing Election Stress at Home
As we move through the election season, it is essential to recognize that many middle school students may experience stress related to political discussions and events. Encourage open conversations at home where students can express their feelings and thoughts about the elections. Remind them that it’s normal to feel anxious, and it’s okay to take breaks from news and social media if it becomes overwhelming. Here are some resources and activities that can help:
Family Discussion Nights: Set aside time each week for open discussions about current events. Encourage students to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe space.
Mindfulness Activities: Introduce mindfulness exercises such as deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to help students manage stress. Websites like Headspace (free for teens 13-18) and Calm offer free resources.
Creative Outlets: Encourage students to express their feelings through art, writing, or journaling. This can help them process their emotions in a constructive way.
Limit Media Consumption: Discuss the importance of taking breaks from news and social media. Help them create a balanced media consumption schedule.
If you feel like your student needs some extra support, please reach out to your counselor for some additional resources.
Breakfast/Lunch Menu for the week of September 16th - 20th
It's important for everyone to eat breakfast and lunch because these meals help us feel good and stay focused in school. Plus, guess what? Breakfast and lunch are free for all students!
