Growing Readers: School Spotlight
W.S. Hornsby Elementary School
We are Growing Readers at W.S. Hornsby Elementary School! We have been focusing on giving students the opportunity to read texts independently every day! Growing Readers classrooms have accessible libraries with various text types to meet the needs of all students. Teachers have also been intentionally learning about and honing their skills with 1:1 conferring, strategy group lessons, and high-impact routines to support core phonics instruction. Most recently, we reviewed the benefits and purposes of effective read-alouds to help all our readers grow.
