Dr. Mychele Rhodes, McDuffie County Superintendent of Schools, was announced as one of the four finalists for Georgia’s 2025 Superintendent of the Year. The sole finalist will be announced at the GSBA/GSSA Annual Conference on December 12, 2024. The state finalist will go on to compete for the 2025 National Superintendent of the Year at the American Association of School Administrators conference March 6-8, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Rhodes has been an educator for 31 years, 27 of those in the McDuffie County School System, including 11 as superintendent. She started as a first-grade teacher at Maxwell Elementary, later becoming the school’s assistant principal, then its principal. She also served as the district’s director of curriculum and instruction and assistant superintendent before being chosen by the board to serve as superintendent in 2014.

Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in Mathematics
Contains Accommodations and/or Modifications for students in the mathematics classroom. SDI mean adapting, as appropriate the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction to address the unique needs of the child that result from the child’s disability and to ensure access of the child to the general curriculum, so that the child can meet the educational standards within the jurisdiction of the public agency that apply to all children.
