TSI Testing at EHS
March 4th: For Seniors And Eligible 9th graders
The Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) is a standardized test designed to measure a student's readiness for college-level coursework in reading, writing, and mathematics. It's a requirement for most incoming college students in Texas, unless they meet certain exemption criteria.
Why should a high school student take the TSI?
- College Placement: The TSI results help determine whether a student is ready for college-level courses or if they need to take remedial or developmental courses to improve their skills.
- Early Preparation: Taking the TSI in high school can give students a head start on their college preparation. If they need to take remedial courses, they can do so while still in high school and be better prepared for college-level work when they graduate.
- Peace of Mind: Knowing your TSI scores before starting college can help reduce stress and uncertainty about your academic readiness.
NOTE: Successfully Passing the TSI is a requirement for all Estacado Early College Students intending to enroll in Texas Tech dual credit college courses. Futhermore, starting during the 2026 school year, seniors will not recieve an open or an office practice if they haven't passed TSI.
It's important to note that while the TSI is a valuable tool, it's not the only factor that determines college success. Factors such as study habits, motivation, and time management also play a significant role.
Our LATE START WEDNESDAY bell schedule has been updated
Our daily annoucements are now available to you on the Smore. Annoucements are updated daily. This a great tool for you to stay in the know about whats going on at the E.
DIFFERENCE MAKER
Each month, we highlight one professional staff member and one support staff member as our Difference Maker. Help us to "Shout Out" any EHS Staff who has made a significant Difference in your student's school experience. We like to recognize our Estacado Difference Makers.
From the Counseling Department
Take the month of March for mindfullness. Mindfullness means slowing down and being present in the moment. It means focusing on what you are currently doing in the moment. Being mindful has been known to improve attention spans, help manage stress, increase sense of well-being, improve communication skills, and reduce stress.
Starting in the 2026 school year, students will not be able to get a schedule change unless their choice sheets are signed by a parent this year.

STUDENT PARKING
All student vehicles parking on the campus must obtain a parking permit to avoid getting fined and/or booted. This year, additional student parking has been added to the NORTH parking lot facing Itasca St (see PDF for details). Please complete the form below to register your vehicle. Seniors painting their spot must have the graphic approved prior to painting.
STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS
All incoming freshman will receive a new chromebook device. This will be their device for the entirety of their high school career within LISD. Any replacement or repairs will be handled through the school and charged to the student account. Returning students will be able to pick up their chromebook through the library at the beginning of the year.
24-25 PTA
Please consider joining the Estacado PTA. Being a high school PTA member offers several advantages. You can advocate for your child's education and have a say in school decisions. PTAs also connect you with teachers and keep you informed. By joining, you contribute to a strong school community and support valuable programs for students. There are flexible volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule, and even small contributions can make a big difference.
Teachers on the Rise honors deserving teachers. This program is all about giving teachers the recognition they deserve. The teachers at Estacado work hard to create a positive learning environment and inspire their students. A nomination shows them that their efforts are appreciated. Winning teachers get gift cards and other goodies, and the students who nominate them get a prize too! So it's a win-win for everyone involved. You can nominate a teacher online at the Mrs. Baird's website. All you need to do is write a short explanation of why your teacher deserves to win. So if you have an Estacado teacher who goes the extra mile, why not take a few minutes to nominate them? It's a great way to show them how much you appreciate them
OUR CAMPUS BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
The Estacado High School staff wants to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all students. To achieve this, we've implemented our schoolwide behavior matrix. This is essentially a giant cheat sheet that outlines expected student behaviors in different areas of the school, like classrooms and hallways. The matrix will be displayed around the school and provided to parents so everyone is on the same page about what good behavior looks like. By working together, we can create a more positive learning experience for all Estacado students.
