MCAS at McCarthy - Grade 4 Literacy This Week!
This week at McCarthy on Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2, all Grade 4 students will complete two sessions of English Language Arts (Literacy). On the day of testing, please support your child be doing the following.
- Make sure that your child is well rested and eats breakfast.
- See that your child arrives at school on time and is relaxed.
- Comfort counts. Send a sweater if it’s a cool day. Dress in layers for a warm day.
- Encourage your child to do the best work possible and to have a positive attitude.
- Encourage your child to listen/ read carefully to all test-taking directions and to ask questions if any directions are unclear.
- Remind your child not to get stuck on any one item.
- Encourage your child to check answers for accuracy.
Read Across America
As a final celebration to Read Across America within the month of March, students created amazing decorations on their classroom doors to represent their favorite books. The winners of this McCarthy competition are shown below. Click on the presentation to see all of the amazing doors throughout McCarthy.
Grade 3 Music Concert on Friday, April 12
On Friday, April 12th, all Grade 3 families are welcome to the upcoming Music Concert. This concert will take place at 8:40 AM in the McCarthy Cafeteria. Due to limited seating in the cafeteria and disruption to other classrooms, we ask that all siblings remain with their teachers during this presentation. If you will be attending, please complete the google form below by April 8th!
Completing this form will ensure your badge will be pre-printed and ready for you to attend the concert. Failure to complete this form will result in a delay in attending the concert.
Failure to register will result in a delay in attending the concert. All guests must be checked in prior to attending the concert. Check-in on the day of the concert requires a picture identification and waiting to check-in at the office.
