PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
I’m so grateful for your beautiful children! Today (Nov.6) we had a new 1st grade student join our school (a warm welcome to our newest family!). The way students were at their side offering to show them various locations, be their learning partner and play with them at recess, “I’m really nice, and I will always help you if you get hurt” was heartwarming. A little while before that, 5th graders were rising to the challenge of processing and sharing their feelings after election night during Opening Circle, striving to express how they were feeling authentically but also with awareness and sensitivity to the possibility of classmates with opinions different from their own. I’m so grateful for our staff’s incredible capacity to support, teach and simultaneously extend grace with the many different ways all in our community will experience the days ahead. Everything you can do to keep routines in place for your child and ensure they’re well rested will really help us keep things calm, productive and focused on learning at school. Thank you so much for your support as we move forward through change as a community.
Sincerely,
Lisa

PICTURE RETAKE DAY - NOV 13
Did your kid have a grouchy day? Was there an unfortunate booger? Do they have a better haircut right now?
Picture Retake Day happens to all of us, sometimes. Never fear. We've got you covered!
If you missed picture day entirely: Orders may be placed online by searching by clicking here and selecting the green Order button next to your school retake day event. Online orders are available up to 4 days after retake day. If you already ordered and want a new picture taken please be sure to return your original picture packet to the photographer on retake day.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD IN THE SUCCESSFUL SCHOOLS SURVEY
The Successful Schools Survey is an opportunity for students, staff, and families to provide important feedback on their school environments, learning experiences, and sense of well-being and safety at school.
The survey is conducted once every school year to provide timely information to schools, district leadership, and the community, allowing us to make informed decisions about school climate and culture. This year, the survey window is open November 1 to December 6.
You can complete the Successful Schools Survey online using the link provided below. Please complete one survey per household. If you have more than one student at PPS, we ask that you complete the survey considering the experiences of your eldest child. The survey will take approximately 15-30 minutes to complete and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Vietnamese and Chinese.
