A Note from Mr. Fisher (previously sent on 9/5)
Dear Seckinger Community,
In light of the tragic and senseless act of violence that occurred yesterday in a neighboring school system, our Homecoming football game against Winder-Barrow High School has been postponed indefinitely. Out of respect for those affected, we will also be postponing the pep rally that was scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
We will be moving forward with our Homecoming Dance as planned. During the dance, we will proudly introduce our Homecoming Court and announce our Senior Homecoming Queen and King.
We understand the importance of this time for our students and community, and we appreciate your understanding as we navigate these changes. Please join me in keeping the impacted community in your thoughts.
Sincerely,
Jimmy Fisher
Principal - Seckinger High School
Hard Lockdown Drill
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment, we will be following through with our previously scheduled hard lockdown drill. On Thursday, September 12, we will practice a hard lockdown at 12:30 pm. A hard lockdown is a procedure our school would initiate if we had an imminent threat or potential danger inside our school building. Again, this is an announced practice lockdown drill. Please be assured, this is just a drill.
These drills are a critical part of our efforts to create a safe learning environment, and they help us prepare to respond swiftly and effectively should the need ever arise. We appreciate your understanding and support as we work together to maintain the safety of our school community.
During any type of lockdown situation, no one is allowed to enter or leave the building until authorities authorize the return to normal operations. We will have School Resource Officers on campus, and student check-ins and check-outs will resume at approximately 1:00 pm.
Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year
