A SPECIAL THANK YOU!
The volume of donations that poured in in December was incredible. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you TMS families and community! The Brave Bazaar and Brave Buck Day could not have happened without your generosity. Both were fantastic events that meant a lot to our students and staff. Thank you!
NOTES FROM THE OFFICE
Inclement Weather:
With inclement weather quickly approaching us please know that delays and closings will be posted on our website. For your convenience please follow this LINK!
Medical Forms:
If your student has Vanderbilt forms or other medical forms that need to be completed for evaluations, please submit those forms to the guidance office. This helps ensure that your information is kept private and is submitted in a timely manner. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
Tuesday/Thursday Help Sessions:
If your student has missed any assignments during the week, their teacher will hand them a "green slip" on Friday that shows which assignments still need to be turned in. The student will also automatically be scheduled for a help session after school the following week to finish the work. Parents will receive an email notification.
The student can either complete the work prior to the help session date, or attend the session and get help from a teacher. Better learning and higher grades begin with work completion, and we want to help.
PROGRESSBOOK:
If you want to gain more from ProgressBook and use ProgressBook to stay on top of your kids homework and assignments CHECK THIS OUT! It is a quick video on how to set up notifications for missed work and low grades.
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A WAY TO BE INVOLVED?
We are looking for a few of our family members to partner with us on a Parent/Guardian Partnership Team. This team will function in an advisory, support, and communication capacity. In my time here I have learned that TMS is a fabulous place with wonderful students, staff, and families. As we continue to grow, this partnership can strengthen and build upon what has already been established. Thank you for considering membership. We will limit the number of members so please apply by January 17th for consideration.

LET'S TALK ABOUT ATTENDANCE
Dear TMS Families,
It is the time of year where we are seeing a lot of absences. Some of these can't be avoided due to illnesses that seem to surface during the winter months. We wanted to reach out with some information about the importance of student attendance and how it can have an impact on your child's school performance now and in the future. Please review the fact link and graphic below. If you have any questions or concerns about your child's attendance or an attendance letter you may have recently received, please reach out to your child's counselor, school office, or school administration.
6TH GRADE CAMP GLEN HELEN INFORMATION
Glen Helen invitations and paperwork went home on January 8 in sixth grade science. The commitment letter and behavior contract, along with a $25 deposit are due by February 28th to secure a spot on this trip.
Camp dates are as follows:
Mrs. Jackson's Science students will go to camp May 12-14
Mrs. Oberschlake's Science students will go to camp May 14-16
Specific details about the Glen Helen trip, including cost, fundraising and scholarships, can be found in the packet that was sent home this week. There is also an informational video posted in the Sixth Grade Science Google Classroom.
This trip is first come - first serve. We only have space available for the first 85 students who sign up for each session. Be sure to get your deposit and paperwork in right away to secure your spot.
There will be a parent meeting on January 30th from 6-7 in the TMS cafeteria. Mrs. Jackson and Mrs. Oberschlake and hopefully a Glen Helen staff member will be available to answer questions.
