Field Day on Wednesday, June 12
Our annual Field Day event is just over a week away and we wanted to share a few details about the event to help your child prepare for an awesome day.
Below is the Field Day schedule for Wednesday, June 12th:
8:30 - 10:30 Field Day Events for grades K - 2 and Seitz's ALC class
10:45 - 11:15 Whole School Lunch. Please note: Parents must volunteer to help during a field day session to be on campus for lunchtime. All volunteers will sign in the lobby.
11:30 - 1:30 Field Day Events for grades 3-5 and Therrien's ALC class
The weather forecast for Field Day looks sunny and amazing! Please make sure your student wears sunscreen. It would also be helpful for students to bring a water bottle to help stay hydrated while they are out on the field. There will be 2 break stations with water, but water bottles for the rest of the day are highly recommended.
Many parents have already signed up to help with Field Day - thank you!!! If you are interested in being part of the day, please access MyImpact for shifts that are still available. There are 22 stations for Field Day (both morning and afternoon sessions) and each station needs 2 volunteers, so we appreciate having many adults here to join in the fun! By signing up in MyImpact volunteers are able to choose the station that they would like to supervise. All volunteers must have a background check and sign in at the office before attending Field Day.
Library News from Ms. Larsen
Summer Reading at Cedar Mill Public Library
Summer Reading begins June 1st at Cedar Mill Library! Sign up, complete a reading log and earn a free book! The more kids read or are read to, the better reader and writer they become! Let’s show our public library that Oak Hills students are readers!
End of Year
All Library Books were due May 30th. Overdue notices will go out to emails. Look for emails from BSD Library Services with details. If a book is not returned before the end of the school year, the district will mark the book(s) as Lost and a replacement fine will be assessed on your child’s library account to pay for a replacement copy. Currently we have over 350 overdue library books.

The full list is out now! Students interested in doing OBOB next year can start to read the books now! We will be making teams in October, so please hold off on talking about making teams. Much changes over the summer. You are welcome to hold book clubs this summer and talk about the books without the expectation that the kiddos that participate are on a team together. Just enjoy reading the books and talking about them!

Grades 3-5 OSAS Results: Families Accessing Test Scores
Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) scores for individual students are located in ParentVue. Test outcomes can be ready as early as 10 days after your child submits a test. If they are still in make-up testing mode for ELA, Math, or Science OR just completed a performance task or computer adaptive test, it is still processing.
From the ParentVue Main Menu, select Test Scores to see a list of completed tests with a scale score and performance level by content area. For more information about OSAS Achievement Level Descriptors (by grade level) and Scoring Guides, please visit the Beaverton School District Assessment Page at:

News from the PTO
PTO Board
The PTO Board is almost full. There are two more officer positions available for next year (Co-Vice President and Co-Secretary). If you are interested in being more involved with the school events and are wanting to join the board, please email pto@oakhillspto.org.
PTO Help with School Supplies
The PTO has voted to fund a portion of the family provided school supplies for next school year. There will still be some items that families will need to purchase ahead of the 2024-2025 school year, but we are hoping to offset some of the cost. School supply lists with a reduction of items to purchase will be provided this summer.
Neighborhood Travel Reminder: Safety Update
As weather warms up, we are seeing more students riding bikes and walking to and from school each day. Crossing guards and neighbors are reporting drivers traveling at high rates of speed and driving through stop signs, presenting the potential for safety concerns on our surrounding streets. We have reached out to Washington County to request their support in patrolling the areas during arrival and dismissal times to ensure drivers are using caution.
If you notice any traffic concerns, you can reach out to directly to Washington County through the link below:
Washington County Traffic Concern Reporting

If you see an officer in the immediate neighborhood, they are likely offering their support to Oak Hills to ensure drivers are traveling responsibly. Thank you for exercising caution when traveling through our surrounding neighborhoods.
