Quarter 3 (Q3) Grade Monitoring
First Semester (S1) grades have been posted and we are well into the 3rd Quarter. Progress Report 3 (P3) Grades will be viewable in PowerSchool on March 6th. Quarter 3 (Q3) will end on April 4th just before Spring Break. After April 4th, Quarter 3 (Q3) and Quarter 4 (Q4) grades will be combined to become the Semester 2 (S2) grade, which will be the final grade shown on a student's transcript. PowerSchool is a great tool for monitoring your student's grades and opening discussions about classwork and overall student success.

Portrait of a Graduate
Communication & Collaboration - CTE Invention Convention and Tartar Chef Contest
The Engineering, Theater, and Foods programs collaborated to host this event. Students in the capstone class, Engineering Design and Development, presented their projects, in which they identified a problem, and then designed and built an invention to address it. They first presented to a panel of industry-expert judges and later to an audience of family and friends. Theater students created commercials for each invention, while Foods students worked in teams to develop recipes and provide food samples for the audience. The audience voted on their favorite sample, and the top three teams were recognized at the end of the event. This collaboration showcased the diverse talents of students across multiple disciplines, emphasizing creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. The event celebrated innovation, performance, and culinary arts, bringing together students, judges, and the community for a memorable and engaging experience.
Leadership & Character - Varsity Captains Training
On Thursday, 20 February, over 80 captains from all varsity spring sports from all 4 TUSD high schools met in the Little Theater at Torrance HS for a leadership training. The training was facilitated by Anja Koehler, who played Division 1 soccer at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Portland. After graduating, Anja founded Captain's University to help develop confident leaders by providing tools to overcome the challenges that they face. With the training, our student-athletes were able to collaborate with other captains across the four TUSD high schools and enhance their development as leaders.

Say Something Anonymous Reporting System
This life-saving service empowers you, our students, and our community members to anonymously report any concerns, including potential threats, bullying, or individuals who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. There are three ways to make a report:
Call the 24/7 crisis hotline counselors at 1-844-5-SayNow (1-844-572-9669)
Download the mobile app at Google Play or Apple Store
Submit a tip through their secure website
No matter how you report, Say Something ensures that every voice is heard and every concern can be addressed promptly.
We encourage you to remind your children about the importance of speaking up if they see or hear something troubling so that we can partner to address issues before they escalate. By working together, we can create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.
