Summer Term - 29th June 2023
Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
Although we are getting near to the end of the year, can I remind all parents that a full school uniform is required at all times. This includes black shoes, plain black shorts or joggers for PE lessons and the HJS sports jumper. This will be closely monitored by staff over the next few weeks and we appreciate your support with ensuring this policy is adhered to.
I am sure parents are aware that on Monday 3rd of July, it is new class morning. The children will have an opportunity to spend the morning with their new class teacher, in their new classroom. Many of the children are very excited about this opportunity and I hope that parents will join us in ensuring it is a positive first experience. I would also like to say special good luck to all of our year six pupils who will be visiting their secondary schools for the first time - I am sure they will make HJS very proud.
In a surprising turn of events we had TWO winners at sports day this year - both Hampton and Thames came out victorious with the same top score! Congratulations to both teams and to the whole school for a fantastic and successful sports day. A big thank you to Mr Graves as well for organising.
Finally, next week we also welcome a group of Taiwanese students to Hampton Junior school who will be with us until the end of term. They will be working alongside our wonderful pupils learning about the schools culture and English traditions. I am sure our pupils will also gain a lot of experience from having them within our community.
I hope everybody has a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week.
Jon James

Idling Engines
I have been asked to remind parents that car engines should be switched off when they are waiting to drop or collect the children. Residents in Linden Road have reported car engines idling especially on warm days when the air con is running. This is contrary to the highway code and has a negative effect on the air quality in the area. Please switch off your engine. I have passed this information to our parking enforcement officer who will keep a look out for this.
