The Clark County Law Foundation is Recruiting for the Youth Restorative Program
The Clark County Law Foundation is currently recruiting students for the Youth Restorative Program (previously known as Trial by Peers).
The Youth Restorative Program (YRP) offers you a unique opportunity for students between 12 to 17 years old who are interested in advocating for their peers.
Enrollment and Training: They will undergo a rigorous 7-week summer course, equipping them with essential skills for effective advocacy in restorative justice circles. Through seminar-based classes, they'll delve into various aspects of the legal system, learning how to research laws and develop skills in communication, negotiation, and critical thinking.
Youth Advocates: Once they complete the training, they can opt to become a Youth Advocate. As a volunteer, they'll commit to advocating for individuals referred to the YRP. Under the guidance of licensed attorneys who act as mentors, they'll deepen their understanding of the restorative justice process and receive ongoing legal education and guidance.
Mentorship and Growth: They will play a vital role in their community as a Youth Advocate, offering support to their peers and contributing positively to their surroundings. Additionally, they'll attend Continuing Legal Education (CLE) sessions hosted by the YRP monthly.
