Reminders about Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
I would like to write a reminder about some of our arrival and dismissal procedures. The pre-k/k drop off line is getting delayed for various reasons.
- Please ensure that you allow the volunteer get scholars out of the vehicle instead of your getting out.
- Please do not drop off kids and then make a u-turn in the parking lot to go out the way they drove in to avoid waiting in the exit line.
- Traffic backs up as other parents have to wait on them to turn around in that narrow space. That’s dangerous to turn around as other parents and staff are still coming in.
If scholars arrive after 8:05, then they must enter through the front entrance.

Parents who no longer wish for their child to remain in the program of Choice must indicate their intent by logging on to their Schoolmint Account and completing the intent to return form or withdrawing their scholar from the program.
The window to complete the intent to return form for current families is December 1-15, 2024. Parents please be sure to complete this form.
Reminders - "Good Standing"
All scholars enrolled in a Choice Program are required to meet certain academic and behavior standards to remain in “good standing” with CHISD Choice Programs. Failure to meet these criteria may result in probationary status. Learners will be evaluated before winter break and again at the end of the school year to determine eligibility for re-enrollment into the program for the upcoming school year. If a learner completes all components of the individual support plan and achieves “good standing”, they will be invited to re-enroll for the upcoming school year.
Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements Acceptance for grades 2nd-5th is based on MAP assessment & last year’s grades.
- All scholars are promoted to the next grade if they meet the basic requirements of attendance, discipline, and grades. All scholars must complete the basic skills to stay enrolled.

Please send the requested items with your scholar, and they can drop them off in the bins located at the front of the school (near door 1), cafeteria, or library. For just $10–$15 at Walmart, you can purchase the six items on our list to make a difference for families in need.
