Kindergarten "Soft Start"
Welcome Kindergarten families!
We are so happy to welcome new kinders to our Wolf Pack! The beginning of kindergarten is a very exciting and important time in your child’s education and we want to do everything we can to support our youngest learners! In order to ensure that our class groupings are most beneficial for learning, we have a separate process for incoming kindergarten students and families.
We have a Kindergarten Family and Student Orientation on Monday, August 26th here at Walker School. Please plan for your kinder and their grown-up to attend one of the orientation sessions on 8/26, either from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. or 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. When you arrive, please check in to the front office with our amazing office staff, Cheryl and Emily. During this time, students will meet and play with their classmates while Ms. Shenandoah & Ms. Jules and other teachers and specialists will have an opportunity to observe and assess students. I will meet with the grown-ups and share information about our school.
The first week of school for our 1st -5th grade students is August 26th - August 30th. For our kindergarten families, our wonderful Kinder Teachers, Ms. Shenandoah & Ms. Jules will hold individual meet and greet visits at Walker School during this time. We will schedule the Meet and Greets at the Orientation on the 26th.
Kindergarten will start at 8:20 on Monday, September 3rd, and will end at 12:30 each day that week.
Regular, full day classes will start on Monday, September 9th. Class begins at 8:20 each day and students are released at 2:50 each day except Wednesdays, which end at 1:30 each week.
Please see the attachments below for more information. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, or celebrations.
We are so excited to see you all soon!
