It's April, Greyhounds!
April 2024
Message from the Superintendent
Happy April Greyhounds-
LCUSD 9 has some very exciting news to share!!! At the March Board meeting, we made it official, and we named Mrs. Jenn Seely our new LES principal for the 2024-2025 school year! We could not be more excited to have her at LES full time. She has worked diligently with the LES staff and community throughout this year with the continued support from Ms. Emrick, and we know without a doubt she will continue to flourish the success at LES!
The countdown is on for summer break, even with the cold temperatures creeping back in every now and again. Here at LCUSD 9, we continue to do amazing things for our students. Over the past few weeks, LES has been preparing there students for the author-Mrs. Jennifer Ward to visit on Thursday, April 4th. I can speak from experience that these books are truly one of a kind and hold unique characteristics that truly connect with students. A shout out to Dr. Donna Wood and the Delta Gamma Organization for supporting our literacy program here at LCUSD 9 and making these experiences happen. Additionally, in preparation for our solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th, our administration, staff, and community has been working diligently on a day full of learning experiences and fun on Friday, April 5th. Our students will be fully educated and ready to take on the amazing eclipse experience on Monday, April 8th!
The Scholar Bowl taken on by our very own Mrs. Donovan has taken off with full speed and the students are loving their experiences. I stopped by a junior high classroom the other day and asked a scholar bowl member how the matches were going. She replied that they needed to continue to work on their geography but was very excited about the experience!
As I have shared on many of my newsletter messages, I continue to learn as the leader at LCUSD 9. I treasure genuine conversations and honesty, and sometimes, I feel like having real conversations are sometimes the most challenging conversations to have with people you see on a regular basis. I am truly grateful for all of the genuine and honest conversations I have had through the course of this year. These conversations have continued my reflection and learning to continue striving to be my best for LCUSD 9!
Lebanon Community- I am so grateful for all of you and to have the opportunity to serve you!
Happy Spring!
Respectfully,
Dr. Ganey
🌸🌸Staff Highlight🌸🌸
Additionally, I would like to highlight the work of two other leaders that stepped up into positions this year that are new to our district and did an amazing job! From the beginning, Mrs. Seely agreed to teach a class that could not be filled in any other way with the schedule and devoted the rest of her time at LES to support the administrative needs of the building, while Mr. Saettele stepped in to support discipline needs at the Jr/Sr High level. Both of these individuals worked alongside of Ms. Emrick and supported all of the needs of LCUSD 9! Much gratitude and appreciation for our 2023-2024 Deans of Students! We appreciate all of our hard work and efforts throughout the year!
🏫🏫Facility Update🏫🏫
We are still waiting, but much closer to getting our Greenhouse Building Permit through the ROE. This has been a multi-person communication process, and I know that the official permit will be coming soon through the ROE. A huge shout out to board member, Mr. Midgley for continuing to support the effort, and to Bryan Reising for all his efforts in communication with both the Greenhouse Megastore and the ROE.
We also had our ROE Health/Life/Safety Compliance visit in March. Bryan Reising will be at the April Board Meeting to share the report and updates on the compliance visit.
