Hello, Families! We will be holding our final 9th + 10th Grade Coffee w/Counselor + AP for the year. The focus of our conversation will be College Readiness. We are grateful for the participation we have received all year long and hope you can join us one last time. The session will take place on Friday, April 26th from 7am to 8am. The Ultimate HBCU Experience

The Ultimate HBCU Experience is back! This year we’re exploring technological and innovative majors at HBCU’s. Participants will experience a day in the life of an HBCU college student with interactive panels and workshops. We will turn our facility into a mini college campus and simulate the process of choosing a class track, working with FASFA, going through orientation, and roommate assignments. The day will also integrate the rich legacy and traditions synonymous with HBCU’s with a fashion show, step show, and live entertainment. Register today!
CMIT Olympics: MCAP & MISA
A few items as we prepare for MCAP and MISA testing:
Our theme for MCAP and MISA will be "The CMIT Olympics"
April 15-19th students and staff with decorate the hallways and classroom doors with the Olympic theme
On April 23rd there will be an "Opening Ceremony" during 9th grade and 10th grade lunches. Students will light the Olympic torch and participate in a few fun activities to get energized for testing.
Students will need a charged computer for everyday of testing!
April 24th and April 25th students in 10th grade will take MCAP English 10 assessment. The school will be on a modified bell schedule these two days (please see below)

April 29th and April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd, 10th grade students will take MCAP Geometry assessment during their Geometry class each day (regular bell schedule)
April 29th and April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd, 9th grade students will take MCAP Algebra 1 assessment during their Algebra 1 class each day (regular bell schedule)
May 7th, May, 8th, May 9th and May 10th, 10th grade students will take MISA LSN Government assessment during their Government class each day (regular bell schedule)
May 20th, May 21st, May 22nd, and May 23rd, 10th grade students will take MISA Biology assessment during their Biology class each day (regular bell schedule)
On May 24th there will be a "Closing Ceremony" during 9th grade and 10th grade lunches. Students will receive their medals and participate in a few fun activities to get energized for testing.
10th grade students will be taking 4 state mandated assessments within a 5 week period. Please consider donating snacks to my office to help keep students energized during this long process.
