BSHS 2024 June Library Update

In honor of Pride Month, click below to borrow books from Sora that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community!

We have compiled a list of books that have left their mark on the hearts and minds of BSCSD High School staff. Check them out below, or head to the library schoology page to find a linked PDF where you can click on each book and learn more from GoodReads or Sora! We also have a display on top of the short bookshelves with some of the books and recommendation cards.

Come participate in our June makerspace. Come on in and make your very own rainbow! This is a very simple craft that is super cute. Turn them into a garland, use one to decorate your desk...the possibilities are endless! We are also leaving out the supplies to make a button as well as the paper flowers! Seniors, come on in and make your Class of 2024 button!

We have some very exciting new databases coming next year. Be on the lookout for Academic Video Online, EBSCO Academic Search Ultimate, Gale in Context: Literature, and National Geographic (1888-Current). You will be able to find all these databases on Library.fyi in the fall. Click on the pictures to be taken to the product pages to check them out!

Sora Sweet Reads is a simultaneous access collection that is available to us from now until the end of August. That means unlimited check-outs and no waiting for any of the titles in the Sweet Reads catalog on Sora for the whole summer! They have over 200 different eBooks and audiobooks ranging from grade K-12. To find it, log into Sora, select "Explore" from your bottom menu, and look for the Sweet Reads collection!

Mr. Walterich's AP literature classes completed a project using Book Creator to create a book that discussed a literary movement, discussed specific poems from that movement, and showcased a personal poem that would fit into the movement.

We had many other exciting projects this month as well! Contact me if you need me to pull resources, want me to teach a lesson, are interested in some book talks, or if you want to collaborate on a multi-class project! There is nothing too big or too small.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 7:30-3:15

The library is closed after school on Wednesdays when there are board meetings.
