π The School Year is Moving Fast! π
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Can you believe it? We're already past the halfway point of the school year! It's hard to imagine how quickly time flies when we're deep in the middle of winter dealing with the unpredictability of the weather and handling all of the little moments that make each day unique. But here we are, with half the year behind us already!
This is a great time to reflect on the progress your student has made, celebrate the victories (big and small), and reset our goals for the next stretch. Whether youβre feeling like a champion or needing a little motivation, remember: we are here for you!
As weβve all experienced, the winter weather has certainly forced us to make some adjustments. We hope everyone is staying safe as we navigate this snowy season together. With this inclement weather, we have had to modify our school calendar. While we are an online campus, our teachers report to school everyday and follow the teacher schedule as set by the Titusville Area School District. This is why we have had days off for the weather. While we know these unexpected breaks can be a welcome pause, we also understand they can present challenges in terms of staying on track with learning. Please know that we always work to ensure that students have the resources they need to stay engaged with their lessons. If you have any questions or concerns, please donβt hesitate to reach out. Letβs keep our fingers crossed for clear skies ahead!
In this issue, you will find our updated ROC calendar, strategies to be successful online, our 2nd quarter ROC and Rising stars, valentine activities and black history month information.
Please know that we are very grateful for your continued partnership with Rockets Online Campus. Your support and dedication to your child's education make all the difference. Together, we are helping our students succeed and soar to new heights!
Warm regards,
The ROC Team

π Strategies to be Successful Online π
- Hold yourself accountable - Set goals at the beginning of the semester, and check in with yourself weekly. Make sure youβve allotted enough time each day to complete the work. Be organized, proactive, and self-aware, so you can get the most from your online classes.
- Practice time management - The flexibility to create your own schedule is often one of the biggest appeals of taking online classes. But that freedom can also be detrimental if you do not have solid time management skills. So, create a weekly and daily schedule that you follow. Commit to making your online coursework part of your daily routine. When working on your assignments, try time-blocking, allotting yourself a certain amount of time for each task before moving on to the next one and setting a timer to keep you accountable.
- Create a regular study space and stay organized - Set up a dedicated learning environment for studying. By completing your work there repeatedly, youβll begin to establish a routine. Whether your workspace is at your kitchen table, a library, or the corner booth in a local coffee shop, itβs important to determine what type of environment will work best for you.
- Eliminate distractions - From Netflix to social media to dishes piling up in the sink, youβll be faced with many distractions that can easily derail your studies. The best online students know how to lessen these distractions and set aside time to focus. Ultimately, you will need to find a strategy that works best for you. Regardless of where you choose to work, consider turning your cell phone off to avoid losing focus every time a text message or notification pops up.
- Figure out how you learn best - Once youβve established where youβll learn, think about when and how you accomplish your best work. If youβre a morning person, make time to study first thing. More of a night owl? Set aside an hour or two after dinner to cozy up to your computer.
- Actively participate - Participate in the Rockets Online Campus Help Line. Using this support will allow you to better understand course materials. This might involve asking a question about a project youβre working on or confirming your response to a question is going in the right direction. Donβt wait until an assignment is almost due to ask questions or report issues. Be proactive and ask early and often for help.
- Get help when you need it - If you do not know what to do on an assignment or donβt understand the assignment, help is available! Call 814-827-0565 and our team will get you help by phone or on a meet. You can also jump on the Help Line from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM any school day and all four core teachers (Science, Math, English, and Social Studies) are there to help. The Check in and Chat or Morning Meetings are available daily to get help.
Help is just one call or click away!
