What is new this fall?
- Max6 content includes articles geared more towards younger readers with illustrations and text features to support comprehension
- Units save teachers time by providing organized content, essential questions and classroom activities all in one place
- Power Words provide student-friendly definitions with text-to-speech support within Max6 articles to improve reading comprehension
- Teachers can find the new Benchmarks here (for every grade level, there is a group of three articles with 8 questions each--completing these will speed up Newsela's adaptivity for each student and immediately increase the reading skills insights in their Binders)

TEACHERS AND STUDENTS NEED TO ACCESS NEWSELA THROUGH THE CLEVER PORTAL
Sign in with Google Sign in, then click on the Newsela icon.
PRO TIP-- access through Clever every time, rather than going directly to the website, so data is synced effectively.

Getting started
Need to start by adding your students to a class? This page will show you how. Use this page if you use Google Classroom (and really, for so many reasons, use Google Classroom)
Newsela PRO has the most impact when students read and take quizzes on the site, which sill adapt to their reading level and automatically present them with articles at the right level. In addition, you gain insights into their learning in the PRO Binder.

Going deeper
Your PRO subscription includes some cool features to help you design lessons that will have an impact. Look for resources customized for each individual article--- content connections as well as reading skills.
If your students register for Newsela now, they keep using the same login to read over the summer.
