Superintendent's Message
Loveland Tiger Families,
Congratulations, we’ve reached the end of the third quarter! Teachers spent the in-service day on Friday working on grades, and report cards will be coming out soon.
We’re entering a fun time of year. Schedules will be filling up with celebrations like the LPS Showcase last week. The time change will make the days feel longer, and Spring Break is just a couple weeks away.
I hope your students are having a great year. If you have any questions, you can reach me at mikebroadwater@lovelandschools.org.
Go Tigers!
Mike Broadwater

Vote for Custodian of the Year!
David Smith, our awesome head custodian at LIS and LMS, is in the running for Cintas Custodian of the Year! He's a top 10 finalist and needs your help to win it all! David keeps the campus looking great for our students and staff. He’s a hard worker who is kind-hearted and a great presence in the building for our students. Cintas will award $10,000 to the winning custodian and $5,000 in Cintas and Rubbermaid products and services to the winner’s school. Follow this link to vote - just click on his photo, then click the “vote” button. Vote daily between now and April 12!
Clean Kitchen Awards
Congratulations to our Loveland Food Service Team for winning the Clean Kitchen Awards from Hamilton County Public Health. Only the top food service teams can win the award based on staff training and great inspections. Each school's kitchens won the Clean Kitchen Award for the 12th time this year. Thanks to Kris Tracy, our Food Services and Child Nutrition Director, and her team for their hard work!
Caring for our Watersheds Awards
Four teams of students at Loveland High School are in the running for the Ohio Caring for Our Watersheds Contest. The contest encourages students to develop ideas to help keep rivers, lakes, and wetlands clean and healthy. Students develop the projects as part of their Honors Biology or Environmental Science class or as members of the LHS Green Team:
Grant Macura, Jagger Cooper, Liam Dobson, and Artur Yun are working on reducing non-recyclable waste by distributing toothpaste tablets and bamboo toothbrushes.
Tyler Wolf and Graham Hartman are working to revive the old LHS Arboretum by removing invasive honeysuckle and restoring native plants.
Heather Cosgrove, Reese Trujillo, and Maggie Reis have made a deck of playing cards with eco-friendly tips and suggestions.
Jay Christian, Julius Vorbroker, and Colton Endicott are organizing an art show featuring works of art created out of recyclables or trash.
These students will present their completed projects on April 27 at the Cincinnati Zoo to determine their final place and prizes! Congratulations to the students and LHS Biology and Environmental Science Teacher, Tonya Nkhata.
Make an Impact for Loveland Businesses on “Impact Night”
Support our Loveland Tiger Students as they support local businesses, and join your neighbors on Impact Night. Students in the Loveland High School Tigers Inc. program lead this effort to encourage the community to eat, shop, and support local businesses on Impact Night. Join your neighbors by wearing orange and supporting local businesses on Thursday, March 14, from 5-8 pm. Tigers Inc. is our Loveland High School experiential business program, and Impact Night is now in its fourth year. Wear orange, shop local, and show off your Loveland pride!
Reminders
Calendar Change: No School on Monday, April 8, 2024
There will be no school for students on Monday, April 8, 2024. A total solar eclipse will cross over Ohio that day, and we’re canceling classes to allow families to experience the eclipse together. Staff will still report to work on April 8 and use the time for professional development and training.
Kindergarten Registration Continues
Registration for Kindergarten at Loveland Early Childhood Center is now open. If your child will be five years old on or before August 1, 2024, they can be part of the Loveland Tiger Class of 2037! Learn more on our website at www.lovelandschools.org/kinder.
2024-25 and 2025-26 School Calendars Available
The school calendars are now available for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 school years. You can view and print an easy-to-read version of the calendar and important dates by following this link to our website.
Transportation Challenges Continue
There is an urgent need for bus drivers for our district. Without additional drivers, we may be forced to skip some routes on some days because we are critically short-staffed. We are working to avoid this, but please create a backup plan for how your family would handle transportation in the event we are forced to limit bus service due to the driver shortage.
Loveland bus drivers receive paid training, health insurance, and retirement benefits. Follow this link to apply online, or call our Transportation Department at 513-683-3103. Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors about this great opportunity to help our Loveland City School District community.
