Marvelous March
Leaping into a New Month
Our school embraced a frog-themed Leap Day, hopping into exciting activities centered around these amphibians and their lily pad habitats. From interactive lessons to creative projects, students and teachers leaped into a day filled with ribbiting fun and educational adventures. The frog and lily pad theme added a playful touch to our Leap Day activities, creating a memorable and engaging experience for everyone involved.
Read Across America
Read Across America is an annual reading awareness program organized by the National Education Association (NEA). Celebrated around March 2nd, Dr. Seuss's birthday, the initiative promotes the joy of reading. Join schools, libraries, and communities in fun activities like read-aloud sessions and book fairs to inspire a love for reading and enhance literacy skills in children. We are grateful to have students from Wayne Valley High School read to our students for the second year in a row. Check out their amazing artwork below!
Sensory Sessions
Science Fun
In Ms. Liz's group, students delve into the world of Mount Rainier, an active volcano, using lemon volcanoes 🍋🌋. This hands-on activity not only makes learning about volcanic eruptions engaging but also reinforces scientific concepts in a memorable and enjoyable manner. The interactive nature of the experiment sparks curiosity and fosters a deeper understanding of geological processes.
Very Hungry Catepillar
Ms. Heather transformed "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" into a sensory book, allowing students to explore the story through various tactile experiences. 🐛 This creative adaptation enhances the learning process by engaging different senses, making the narrative more immersive and enjoyable for every student.
Caps For Sale
"Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina is a classic children's book that follows the amusing adventures of a peddler and a group of mischievous monkeys. The story unfolds with a simple yet engaging narrative, complemented by vibrant illustrations. "Caps for Sale" remains a beloved and entertaining read for both children and adults. Ms. Debbie and her many hats made the students'' day.
Women's History Month

Art Showcase
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff and supportive parents who participated in and attended our Art Showcase held in February. Your presence and enthusiasm contributed immensely to the success of the event. In addition to displaying our students' artwork, guests learned about our program offerings at The Phoenix.
Adventures of Homer The Gnome
THE LEPRECHAUN
The Leprechaun is an Irish faery
From down County Cork or from far Tipperary.
They’re tiny and short, a mere two feet in height.
They work on their shoes and their terrible fright
Is that you will stop by and demand all their gold
All hidden away in a tree’s hollow hold.
