Expectations and Missing Assignments
Expectations: Just a reminder that assignments are posted on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays (with our class chat talking place every Thursday from 11:30-12:00.)
It's become evident that many students are not WATCHING the instructional videos I am making/posting BEFORE completing assignments, which results in many mistakes being made that I feel like they may not make otherwise. I'd love your help in reiterating to students that they should complete their assignments in the order posted (including watching the videos!) Thank you so much.
As always, I am here to support you, so please reach out to me if you have questions/concerns.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we continue with online teaching/learning.Though our building is closed down, we know our minds are not!
Daily Assignments for Monday, April 20
- Watch the instructional video posted in Classroom to review how to convert tenths to hundredths (Multiply by 10)
- Complete the Google Form to practice converting tenths to hundredths
- Remember: When adding fractions in the tenths and hundredths, you must FIRST convert the fraction in the tenths place to hundredths and then add like fractions together
- Complete 1 Mappers lesson of your choice
READING: (Nonfiction Text Features)
- We are going to move into learning about and analyzing nonfiction text features and nonfiction text structures (We have talked about this a little bit in Benchmark, but not a lot.) We will spend the next two weeks on these skills and then start a project that encompasses both reading and writing.
- Open the Nonfiction Text Features Slideshow and watch the video on slide one
- Read through the slideshow
- There is a writing prompt on the last slide
WRITING: (Nonfiction Text Features)
- Using the Google Doc listed in Classroom, answer the prompt found on the last slide. (I've already copied it and pasted it into the DOC for you.)
- This counts as writing, therefore I'm looking for 4th grade quality. Be sure to use complete sentences, capital letters, and punctuation.
- Please restate the prompt into your answer!
