Principal's Message
Dear Cardinals,
Yesterday was the feast day of the Chair of St. Peter the Apostle and it is during the Gospel reading that we hear those timeless words of Jesus, declaring St. Peter the first Pope "You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18). What a powerful reminder of the fact that Jesus preserves the Church - always. So, even when things seem dire and hope seems dim, we can take courage in the fact that Christ is with us. This is particularly important at this time as our current Pope Francis - successor of St. Peter - is in medical distress and in need of our prayers. This month as we focus on the Catholic Social Teaching of the Call to Family, Community, and Participation, we recognize the special role our Pope has as leader of our Catholic Family. And, fittingly, we pray for his wellbeing. No matter what may come, we can take courage, hope, and faith that Christ is with the Church, and with each of us always - preserving and sustaining us.
Lord, thank you for the gift of the Church,
and thank you for the leadership of the successors of St. Peter.
We ask that you be with our Pope Francis at this time of his need.
Amen+
