Weekly Note π¦
An exciting past week at Lambrick!
Thank you to Olivia Smith and Lucy Smith, Lambrick's Campus Cousins (Indigenous Leadership), for their hosting of the first-ever Pit Cook at Lambrick Park.πΏπ It was amazing to learn from Jean Smith (Lucy and Olivia's grandmother) and Sylvia Fee (Olivia's mom) about this traditional and collaborative feast for our entire school. Thank you to all the staff and students who supported and joined in to help collect rocks, harvest the traditional plants, prepare the food and who came for the smoked salmon and roasted vegetables! Thank you to Esquimalt Elder Mary Ann Thomas for the traditional welcome and blessing and to our wonderful Indigenous Education teachers and facilitators for their support! Gila'kasla! Hay'sxw'qa!
Congratulations to all those who qualified and good luck to our Cross Country runners as they head to Islands this week in Powell River!
Shout out to our bands and our choir who are preparing for their Fall Concert this coming Wednesday at 7:00pm in Lambrick's gym! π΅πΆ
Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who helped run Student Vote this past Friday in the Library! What a huge success! Can't wait to see the results.
We are looking forward to welcoming families and students this Tuesday night in the Library for our Post-Secondary Information Night with presentations from local institutions. All welcome!
