🍎 Meet our First Grade Team 🍎
"The best thing about First Grade is the excitement and wonder our students bring each day. Seeing their progress, from small victories to big breakthroughs, makes every moment worth it. It’s a privilege to guide them as they grow, learn, and build confidence in themselves."

📚 Book Fair 📚
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to North, November 18th-November 25th.
Students can shop during the school day. The Fair will also be open for shopping during
Grandparent's Day and our North Chilingo night!
Click the flyer below for North's Book Fair homepage!
While you’re there, you can set up a Book Fair eWallet for your child--this is a digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link with your extended family, so they can add funds too! When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair.
Happy Reading!

🔵🟢 Zone News 🟡🔴
As a district, Ozark elementary schools are utilizing The Zones of Regulation® curriculum (or “The Zones” for short). The Zones of Regulation focuses on self-regulation. Self-regulation can go by many names, such as self-control, self- management, and impulse control. Here is a summary of what the curriculum consists of:
The Zones is defined as the best state of alertness of both the body and emotions for the specific situation. For example, when a student plays on the playground or in a competitive game, it is beneficial to have a higher state of alertness. However, that same state would not be appropriate in the library.
Lessons and learning activities are designed to help the students recognize when they are in different zones and how to use strategies to change or stay in the zone needed.
It is important to note that everyone experiences all of the Zones– the Red and Yellow Zones are not “bad” zones. All of the zones are expected at one time or another. The Zones of Regulation is intended to be neutral and not communicate judgment.
It is important for us to use a common language at school as well as at home. Feel free to utilize the chart below to help us to do this!
