Mock On
As with most programs this year, the annual Mock Newbery program will look a little different. We will still meet three times (once in October, December, and January) to discuss eligible books and vote for a winner, but we'll be doing so through Zoom. Teen Summit - Proposals Accepted Through July 31
The 2020 Teen Summit is still on … virtually!
MLS and RIOLIS will hold the 2020 Teen Summit as a virtual day-long conference on October 2! Keynote speaker is Adrienne Kisner, Massachusetts author of Dear Rachel Maddow, The Confusion of Laurel Graham, and Six Angry Girls (August 2020).
Registration details will be announced late Summer/early Fall.

Digital Access to Comic Books and Graphic Novels This Summer!
Ocean State Libraries is pleased to announce participation in a free national program to expand access to digital comic books and graphic novels this summer.

Summer Reading Program Database Now Live
The "Find a Program" database of Summer Reading Programs is now live at https://olis.ri.gov/reading/srp/index.php. Summer Reading Program information is also included in the public facing Library Service Status webpage at https://lorinet.info/libraries/status/.

Summer Learning Opportunities for Youth
Please share with families!
RIDE has now over 200 approved FREE virtual summer opportunities through the SAIL with PrepareRI program for public school students in grades K-12 across Rhode Island! Students and families can sign up for these unique offerings. Some of the opportunities include:
- Providence Children's Museum
- Galileo Learning
- Rhode Island School of Design
- The College Crusade
- and so many more!
In addition to the virtual programming there are over 68 approved in-person summer opportunities across the state open to enrollment for students that have been approved through RIDE and DHS. Many of these programs can be found through municipalities and provider websites.
Some of these opportunities include:
- YMCAs across the state
- Boys and Girls Clubs across the state
- Parks and Recreation Departments across the state
- and many more!
Programs and courses are being added weekly for both virtual and in-person programming so check back often to learn of new opportunities at the RIDE SAIL page! Providers and families can reach out to summer@ride.ri.gov for more information.

- CSLP has developed Summer 2020: Additional Resources in Response to COVID-19, a toolkit for SRP in-a-box programming. These materials can be found on the SRP LibGuide and on the CSLP website, www.cslpreads.org.
- Additional themed SRP resources, including instructions for accessing the online manual, can be found at https://olis-ri.libguides.com/SRP/2020
- A COVID-19 page has been added to the SRP LibGuide at https://olis-ri.libguides.com/SRP/covid-19 and includes resources for adapting your SRP program for social distancing and phased reopening.

A COVID-19 page and a Virtual Training page have been added to both the Children's Services Roundtable (CSRT) LibGuide and the Young Adult Roundtable (YART) LibGuide. These pages are still under construction, but the COVID-19 pages will include information and resources on topics that arise during the weekly chats and the Virtual Training pages feature learning opportunities specific to youth services.
