PICTURES & NEWS
ADVENTURERS PRE-K DANCE AND ART
Ms. Blow's Pre-K group engaged in two activities early on Tuesday morning. They were photographed at 8:45am dancing and freezing enthusiastically to various music and dance videos. When the dancing was done at around 9:00am, art teacher, Ms. Martinson, entered the room with a colored paper collage-making task. The children were separated into two table groups where they happily glued bits and strips of paper to construction paper. The moved to coloring sheets when the collage-making opportunity faded from interest. Link to 36 Pictures.
EXPLORERS 2ND GRADE SPELLING
Ms. Halvorsen's students were challenged to spell 10 words that she called out to them. They used little whiteboards and held them up after spelling each word. Ms. Halvorsen helped them sound out the words when they had trouble identifying the correct lettering to use. Link to 25 Pictures.
NAVIGATORS KINDERGARTEN
Some students made structures and "foods" like pancakes with playdough that Ms. Borst made from a recipe. Other students drew and wrote in workbooks. Link to 18 Pictures.
RAIDER VISITED DISCOVERY 5TH GRADE
Mr. Marrin won a raffle supplying his 5th grade classroom group with popsicle treats. Raider and Ms. Trainer came to deliver those treats. It was a happy moment between their scheduled mid-morning coursework.

BIKING FRIDAYS IN OCTOBER (FROM HOUGHTON PARK TO SCHOOL)
“It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become.”
— The Lorax
Greetings from the Climate Committee! We are announcing Biking Fridays from Houghton Park during the month of October! If you don’t have a bike, walking is an option although bikers and walkers will not be kept together while getting to school.
Meet up at Houghton Park earliest at 6:50 and leaving at 7:00.
We are doing this because if you walk, bike, or carpool to school, it lessens air pollution and hopefully our actions will slow global warming.
Thank you for reading, biking and walking!
