Panther Cub Night
Dear Future Kindergarten Families,
Weathersfield School is excited to invite next year’s incoming kindergarten children and parents to a fun-filled evening of making friends and memories!
We are hosting Panther Cub Night on Tuesday, May 14, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., here at the school. You are welcome to come at any time, and stay for however long you would like during that time frame.
Teachers will be running activity tables for the incoming kindergarteners. At each table, your children will get a bag of “goodies” to take home to continue practicing over the summer to help them get ready for kindergarten. Some of the materials include letter and number flash cards, craft supplies, and even a copy of one of our favorite books!
We look forward to getting to know Weathersfield’s newest Panther Cubs on May 14th!
Dental Services at Weathersfield School
Weathersfield School will be offering dental cleanings, dental sealants, fluoride applications, and silver diamine fluoride applications to students this May.
Dental services are for students who do not have a regular dentist, or who have not seen a dentist in over a year.
Lisa Watson, Registered Dental Hygienist at NorthStar Dental Clinic, will be visiting our school to provide services. If students need a follow up visit with a dental office, she can arrange one with NorthStar Dental in Ludlow VT.
If you would like your child to have a dental check-up at school, please let Mrs. Knight our school nurse know so we can put your child on the schedule and give you the appropriate forms. Please reach out with any questions.
Board Meeting
Kids Heart Challenge
Thank you to those students, their families, and friends, who helped collect donations for the
American Heart Association.
Fifty-three students at Weathersfield School participated in our annual Kids Heart Challenge fundraising this year. We raised $5,288.62 for the American Heart Association – thanks to your support!
In addition to raising funds to support the organization's mission, students participated in activities to embrace a lifetime of healthy living and social responsibility. Those activities included glow-in-the-dark games like Ultimate Team Battleship, volleyball, Ga-Ga, basketball, and badminton. Special thanks to the Weathersfield PTO for donating money for the LED light-up rings, and the glow basketballs. Plus, thanks to the generous efforts of you and your child(ren), our school also earned valuable resources through the American Heart Association Points Program. We will receive a gift certificate for P.E. equipment!
The top school fundraisers were Gavin Gilbert - $396.50 and Ava Holmes - $385.57.
Thank you to all students, parents, families, friends, and staff for the outstanding support and generosity of this annual Kids Heart Challenge event!
With Heartfelt Thanks,
Mrs. Laura Berry
