Hello Brahma Parents & Guardians,

I hope your first day of school went well!

Though I would much rather be telling you how wonderful it was to meet your sons and daughters at school today in person, it was great to see many students online. I was able to "visit" virtual classes today and I hope your child enjoyed the live connection they were able to make with their peers and teachers.

As we embark on this Distance Learning journey together, I am excited about the new personal growth opportunities we all share during the pandemic. Please remember that communication is key, and if you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us!

Textbook Pickup (Updated 8/11/20)

• If your student needs to pick up, drop off or exchange their textbook(s), we will be hosting opportunities for students to come to campus and access our Library (LINC) textbook room. Signs will be posted guiding students to the pick up/drop off location.

H-M ......1:30 – 2:00 PM

N-S .....2:30 – 3:00 PM

T-Z ...... 3:30 - 4:00 PM

• Safety Reminders: In oder to comply with Social Distancing mandates, please come only during this assigned window.
• Visitors will NOT BE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS without prior approval from District/School Administration. If you need to arrange for an alternative pickup time after THURSDAY (8/13), please email Instructional Dean, Gabriel Aguilar at gaguilar@wvusd.org to schedule an appointment.

• Parents please ensure your student is logging into the correct classes. In Aeries, double check the course titles and teachers match with the courses your child is logging into.
• During Distance Learning, reporting an absence will follow our normal procedures. Please call the attendance office to report and clear absences.
• Please check GLC webpages for schedule change concerns.

Speaking of amazing teachers. . . congratulations to Jeff Brose, Jimmy Kuo, and Dena Lordi for your help in making our "Mathletes" World Champs in last year's Mathematics Competition.

Last year's top performer was Jason Kim (currently in 10th grade) who finished #10 in the nation. (He was only a freshman at the time!)

He was followed by Warrick He (currently in 12th grade) who finished #14 in the nation.

Tony Wan and Nathan Song were our next two top performers and they are both currently seniors as well.
