Peterson's News
10/7-10/11
I hope everyone enjoyed this beautiful weekend!
I appreciate all of you who follow our arrival and dismissal procedures and I know that many of you do! I wanted to share some reminders with all of you to ensure that everyone is aware and following the ones below:
- If your child is late to school, 9:05 (M, T, R, F) and 9:15 (W), they must be signed in by an adult.
- Once your child(ren) have exited or entered the car, please pull all the way over to the left.
- Be mindful of your speed when exiting.
- The staff parking lot should not be used for any pick-up or drop-off.
- Do not block the crossway , we want students to have a safe way to cross.
- Obey the crossing guards' STOP sign, do not go around it or ignore it.
There have been some unsafe driving practices that have been reported to me. I have used the link below to report them to the police. I encourage you to do the same. Student safety is important to all of us and I thank you for your support!
There are a lot of great things happening this week!! See below for information about them!
Best,
Alli Landstrom

Notes from the Nurse
Thank you for all the donations for the nurse's office! However, we are still in need of clothing. As you are preparing for the colder weather and find that your child has outgrown some pants we would love a donation to the office.
We could use:
- boys size pants 6, 7, 8, 10,12 and 14
- girls size pants 7, 8, and 10
Also, if your child has borrowed some clothing from the nurse's office, can you please return the washed items. Thank you so much!
In good health,
Nurse Patti
Our Party Our Way - School Fundraiser
Just a quick update... we wanted to say a BIG thank you for all of the generous donations so far! We have raised over $13,000 (or 37% of our goal of $35,000). We have many classes unlocking numerous prizes and the students are very excited about their efforts! As a reminder, the dollar amount each classroom raises will earn them a prize each week. Below is a breakdown of the prizes:
- Red Level: Classes earn "bring a favorite toy to class" day! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $5 per student.
- Orange Level: Classes earn pajama day! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $15 per student.
- Yellow Level: Classes earn crazy hat/hair day! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $25 per student.
- Green Level: Classes earn a trinket/toy! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $45 per student.
- Blue Level: Classes earn a sweet treat! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $65 per student.
- Purple Level: Classes earn a pizza party with Mrs. Landstrom! This is for all classes who earn a class average of $85 per student.
With only 5 days left, we’re hoping to give them that final push to reach the goal. This fundraiser isn’t just about fun prizes (though the kids love them!), it's about supporting important initiatives that make our school such a wonderful place for our children to grow.
The funds we’re raising will help bring an amazing rock wall to the school, but it also benefits so many other things like:
• Field trips that expand our children’s horizons.
• Classroom enrichment activities that inspire creativity and hands-on learning.
• The always-special Fifth Grade Celebration for our graduates.
• Upkeep of the Gaga pit that the kids enjoy every day.
• And so much more to support each grade level and teacher!
Every little bit makes a difference, and if you haven’t had a chance to donate yet, there’s still time! You can make a donation directly through the link below: Givebacks - Support the causes you care about

Previous Information
i-Ready Follow-up
This fall, Indian Prairie School District 204 administered the i-Ready assessments to
students in kindergarten through eighth grade. These Illinois Learning Standards aligned
assessments provide comprehensive insight into student learning across multiple domains
for both reading and mathematics. The purpose of these assessments is to evaluate student
academic growth toward end of year expectations. These assessment results are used by
teachers and administrators to assist with instructional planning and differentiation at the
grade, classroom and student level.
Depending on grade level, reading measures assess phonological awareness, phonics,
high-frequency words, vocabulary, comprehension of literature and comprehension of
informational text; and mathematics measures assess number and operations, algebra/
algebraic thinking, measurement/data, and geometry. These areas of performance are
summarized in an overall reading and mathematics score.
Your child’s score reports will be available within ParentVUE starting on Friday, October 11, 2024. To access the reports, click on the “Documents” section in ParentVUE then look for iReady Score Report.
Information concerning the interpretation of your child’s individual report may be accessed at:

We ask that if your child's dismissal plans change on a consistent basis to please fill out the again, so that we can have the most up to date information. Below is the link to form.
Late Start Wednesdays
As in years past, our school district will continue to follow a late start time for every student on Wednesdays. This time is critical to our school and district professional development. The school day will begin at 9:15 a.m. This late start delays both school drop off and morning bus schedules. It does not change our dismissal time of 3:35.
Wednesday Morning Schedule:
- 9:00 a.m. Doors open
- 9:15 a.m. School Starts
