LAST DAY TO SUBMIT PICTURES OF YOUR 8TH GRADER FOR 8TH GRADE VIDEO - DUE 5/31
Get ready to smile because we're keeping the wonderful tradition alive of having a photo slideshow at the 8th-grade celebration! To make this happen, we'd love for you to share a few photos with us. Think of it as a little trip down memory lane! 😊
Here's what we're looking for:
Blast from the Past! We'd love a photo of your amazing 8th grader from their 6th-grade year. If you don't have one from 6th grade handy, any photo from when they were a bit younger will work perfectly!
Right Here, Right Now! Please send us a current photo of your 8th grader. Let their personality shine! ✨
Bonus Fun! (Totally Optional) If you have a special photo you'd like to share, we'd be happy to include it! This could be from a school sports event, a school dance, the awesome Washington DC trip, or even just a great picture with a group of friends. It's all about capturing those memorable moments! 📸
When you save the photo files, please make sure to name them using your student's first and last name. This will help us keep everything organized. For example, if your student's name is Alex Johnson, the files should be named "AlexJohnson1.jpg", "AlexJohnson2.png", and so on.
We're so excited to see all the fantastic photos and make this year's celebration video extra special! Thanks so much for your help! 😊
WEST FIELD DAY SIGN-UP
8TH GRADE RECOGNITION CEREMONY - JUNE 11TH
Please read the message below, which was sent to 8th grade Students & Families on Monday, May 12, 2025.
Good morning, 8th-grade Students and Families,
We want to start with a heartfelt apology for not fully considering all those impacted by changing the date for the 8th-grade Recognition Ceremony. There are scheduling conflicts that cannot be resolved if it remains on Tuesday.
For this reason, the 8th-grade Recognition Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 11, at 9 a.m., the last day of school.
Again, we sincerely apologize for the multiple changes to this event’s date. We understand this may have caused confusion or inconvenience, and we truly appreciate your patience and flexibility as we worked through scheduling challenges.
We’re excited to end the school year celebrating our 8th-grade class on June 11, 2025!
CHROMEBOOK COLLLECTION
Please note that on June 2nd - June 4th, Chromebooks not being retained over summer will be collected at West Middle School during student’s Social Studies classes. The complete schedule is as follows:
6th grade Chromebooks will be collected on Monday, June 2nd.
7th Grade Chromebooks will be collected on Tuesday, June 3rd.
8th grade Chromebooks will be collected on Wednesday, June 4th.
Make up Day - Thursday, June 5th.
Students must return all of the following technology equipment on their assigned day:
District-issued Chromebook
Chromebook's protective shell
Issued Dell power adapter/charger
Each of these items will be reviewed and a financial assessment will be made if any are damaged or not returned.
To ensure the Chromebook is returned in good condition so it can be reissued to another student next year:
Return the device in the condition you would expect to receive it in
Students should remove all stickers and papers, as well as clean any writing or removable marks
Parents/guardians, please also take the time to verify the Chromebook and accessories are in good/re-issuable condition
NO BACKPACKS ON THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
On the last day of school, students should NOT bring their backpacks. They should only have their yearbook & a pen with them.
