Weekly Update
Dear Families,
Thank you for a great week! If you haven't looked recently, please check out our recently redesigned website at: www.lawrencecatholicacademy.net!
- Please put your child's name in their uniforms! Everyone has the same sweaters, so please label everything!
- DO NOT double park for dropoff or pickup. Dropoff starts at 7:30am. Students who are dropped off before 7:30am will be charged for before school care. I sent an email out earlier this week regarding pickup procedures. We will NOT be releasing students to parents double parked in cars. Parents need to find parking, walk to the dismissal location and pick their child up from their teacher. This is for everyone's safety. DOUBLE PARKING is NOT ALLOWED on Salem Street at any time. Teachers are aware of this and will not be releasing students to parents that are not standing in front of them.
Best,
Ms. Lucey
Stories from the Schoolyard
8th Grade Goes to Lowell Catholic
On Thursday, our 8th Grade Class was invited to Lowell Catholic for a tour and an information session. Lowell Catholic sent buses for our students and they were able to see what a morning looks like at a Catholic High School. Our students were exceptionally well behaved and asked great questions, and we received positive feedback from the Admissions Staff and Head of School! We are hoping for more visits like this in the future!
Tutoring and Clubs Started This Week!
We have had a fantastic turnout for Tutoring and Clubs! If your child has a tutoring permission slip, please return it to the main office as soon as possible. We are so excited for so many of our students to be exploring new interests in our clubs and working on their academic skills through tutoring. We are looking forward to adding more clubs in the winter and spring!
Clergy Visits have Started!
We are blessed to have 6 priests and 1 deacon who serve as chaplains to our students. Our clergy visits have started and students are excited to welcome the clergy into their classrooms and talk with them about God. This is an integral part of our Religion curriculum and something that makes LCA so special!

Confirmation Updates
The Archdiocese of Boston has shifted the age at which young people receive the Sacrament of Confirmation to the end of Grade 8.
Confirmation preparation programs take place in parishes (as opposed to at LCA). Each parish determines the length of its Confirmation preparation program (one year during Grade 8 . . . or two years in Grades 7 and 8 . . . or other). To find out about your parish’s Confirmation Preparation program, all Grade 7 and 8 Catholic families should inquire and register at their parishes.
We hope all our Catholic students will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the end of Grade 8!
8th Grade Placement Updates
Please do your "Brag" Sheet by October 10!
