Gahanna Lincoln High School
2024-2025
A Message from Mrs. Williams
As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, I’d like to address a few important reminders regarding safe practices around our school campus:
Crosswalk Usage: Please remind your students to always use designated crosswalks when crossing the street. This helps ensure that drivers are aware of pedestrians and keeps everyone safe.
Speed Awareness: For those of you driving in and around the school zone, please be mindful of your speed, especially during drop-off and pick-up times. Remind your students that slowing down and staying alert can make all the difference in maintaining a safe environment for our students.
Designated Drop-Off Locations: To avoid traffic congestion and ensure the safety of our students, please use the designated drop-off and pick-up areas only. Dropping students off in undesignated locations can create hazardous conditions. Parent drop-off and pick-up is located at our Havens Corners entrance only.
Parking Passes: For families with students who drive to school, please ensure parking passes are properly displayed in vehicles. This helps us identify authorized vehicles and maintain campus safety and order.
Thank you for your continued support and sharing this important information with your students.

Inside the Classroom
Lincoln Live in the Spotlight!
TJ Tilford, RJ Rice and Isaiah Banks attended the Mahogany Columbus Magazine Release Reception at COSI October 21. The event spotlighted Black educators and non-profit leaders throughout Central Ohio. TJ, RJ and Isaiah represented GLHS extremely well when given an opportunity to speak to the audience of nearly 100 adults about the great work they are doing with Lincoln Live and how people can support the program as we move into the new building. Additionally, the students were able to network and build connections with other adults, including President & CEO of COSI Dr. Frederic Bertley and 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year Danee Pinckney of Twinsburg Schools.
Our students were accompanied by Assistant Principal Steve King.
Sweet Lesson in Culinary Skills!
This Halloween, our Experiences with Foods class spiced things up with a fun and educational Cupcake Competition! Students were challenged to design and decorate cupcakes, testing both their creativity and newly learned baking skills. As part of their inquiry lesson, they explored the differences between using a premade cupcake mix versus creating one from scratch, discussing the ease of use versus the quality of the final product.
The real learning took place as students experimented with piping bags and developed their ability to assess the quality of a product. This hands-on experience not only allowed them to practice important culinary techniques but also gave them a deeper understanding of the impact ingredients and tools can have on the end result. We hope you enjoy seeing their sweet creations! 🎃🧁
Our Experiences with Foods class is taught by Miles McConnaughey.
