Reading:
- Reading Assessment: No reading assessment due to the science release test
- We will be in complete review as we prepare for the upcoming STAAR test.
- We will continue working on our fREADom reading.
- We will continue to work on summarizing using GIST and checking our comprehension by using Author’s Portrait.
- We will continue to practice our choral reading. This is a great way to help with fluency. We read a paragraph together out loud as a class at a pace that I set. The more we practice this, the faster we will get and the more fluent we will become. The kids really have fun doing this!
- Your child should continue reading nightly for 30 minutes and then getting their reading log initialed.
Social Studies:
- After reviewing and discussing the Bill of Rights, we are going to move into The Westward Expansion and Manifest Destiny.
- The students created their own Padlets on one of the amendments that spoke to them, and it generated a lot of great conversation among the students. I was very impressed with the work they did on this assignment!
We Are Writers!

The Broadcast Daily: Volume 1, Issue 9
From The Seele Office:
March 17-23 was Poison Prevention Awareness Week. Here are tips from the Poison Control Website for Elementary Age children:
1) Be prepared. Post the Poison Control # 1-800-222-1222
2) Install a carbon monoxide alarm in every sleeping area of the home
3) Store medicines and products in original containers
4) Use child resistant packaging and replace caps completely.
5) Store household products in a different place than food and medicine.
6) Use medicines SAFELY. Read the label of a medication every time you use it and follow the directions. Use the correct dosing syringe or cup, not a household spoon. Always ask your child's pediatrician before giving any herbal supplement or medicine.
