BSES Families,

This week our third, fourth and fifth grade students concluded the PSSA testing. We are incredibly proud of their efforts! We hope they are proud of themselves.

Fourth grade band and orchestra kick-offed our spring concert series this afternoon. The amount of growth that these students have displayed is amazing. We look forward to seeing all of the musicians show off their musical growth in the weeks ahead during their evening performances.

Our Reading Olympics teams competed on Tuesday evening at Strath Haven Middle School. Both teams showed off their book knowledge and team mentality, earning blue ribbons! Many thanks to Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Neuber for leading this work.

Next week we look forward to celebrating our staff during Staff Appreciation Week. Thank you in advance to our HSA for all they are planning and to all of our families who have donated.

The Home and School Association is pleased to offer a fundraiser to pre-order school supply kits that will be delivered to your child's classroom ahead of the first day of school. Please see the flyer below if you are interested in purchasing supplies through EPI. The deadline for orders is June 10th. Kits will not be available for purchase beyond the deadline.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is NEXT WEEK, May 6-10th! The wonderful teachers and staff at BSES really do deserve the GOLD! The HSA Committee has planned an exciting week and we would love your help celebrating our special teachers and staff members through the two activities below. We’re still looking for a few items to make appreciation week amazing! Please consider donating through:

• GIFT CARD LOTTERY: TODAY is the LAST DAY to contribute to our Gift Card Lottery! We will be holding a Gift Card Lottery for the staff, and contributions of gift cards (new or ones you have around the house that you know you aren’t going to use) would be much appreciated. Please check out this Amazon Wishlist if you’d like to purchase gift cards, and make sure to select “Bethel Springs Teacher Appreciation Gift Registry Address” so the cards are shipped directly to the Teacher Appreciation Committee. Please send in any additional gift cards not purchased through the Wishlist into school by Friday, May 3rd. We’re 85% of the way to our goal!

This week kicked-off of the Bethel Springs Elementary School HSA's fundraising campaign leading up to the Jaguar Color Dash on May 17th (Rain date: May 31st). The event aims to raise funds for teacher grants and school improvements. Students can participate in the colorful run/walk, enjoy activity stations, and receive a free t-shirt. You can Support by donating via our website https://myfunrun.com/jcd2024 or VENMO (@BSES-HSA), cash, or check. Raffle prizes await top earners, with every $10 donation earning an entry. The time is almost here to celebrate our 5th graders at the 5th Grade Sendoff Pool Party!!! Be sure to fill out this form and submit a $20 payment to register your child for a fun night with friends!

ATTENTION 5th Grade Parents!! Your child will be coming home with their 5th grade time capsule packages this week. The package includes the instructions for you to prepare their time capsule, a student questionnaire for them to complete and an envelope with their name on it for you to send back to school. These are due into school by no later than June 3rd. The time capsule committee will be collecting these every Friday between April 19th -June 3rd. These will be stored together as the class of 2031 and will be handed out at their post prom when they are Seniors.

Our calendar is getting pretty busy, so if you want to be a BSES Keeper of the Trail, now's the time to hop in! Come on, let's get outside and become the 'Family of the Week'! A big thank you to everyone who joined us at the Oasis Fundraiser this past Wednesday! A special shoutout to Alison Ashenfelter for organizing the Oasis Fun Night for everyone to enjoy. Huge thanks also to Heather Benson and Karen Sholders for keeping company during the drop-off event.
