"MOUNT EVS"
KA1 YOUTH WORKERS MOBILITY Training course
What?
WHY THIS TRAINING?
Being the EVS mentor is never ending travel from one point to another and each EVS volunteers is different what makes this travel amazing adventure. Sometimes the way to get the end of the project is full of challenge, sometimes is easy one but it is always the long- term relationship which requires a lot of patience, time and self-awareness. Mentor as well as volunteers need some support to be ready to climb the mount EVS. This training activity offers the opportunity to further develop competencies that are needed to be a mentor within EVS.
There will be time to reflect on the roles, responsibilities and challenges of actors involved in mentoring, to share experiences and to get to know about other people´s practices. It will be also the time to recognise already existing skills and strengths and to learn more about yourself.
The educational approach of the training activity is based on non formal education methods and experiential learning as well as the contribution of participants and on active participation in all parts of the program.
The overall aim of this activity is to increase the quality of mentoring in EVS and to support active mentors working with their volunteer(s).
Objectives:
- reflecting about EVS mentorship and various roles and responsibilities of EVS mentors in different contexts;
- identifying the benefits of mentoring for the mentee and the mentor;
