Around the School Spotlight
We LOVED having so many families attend our STEM night! It was fun to see students and their families interacting with the many different experiences we had around the building. Our community partners, middle school and high school teachers all commented on what a great evening it was and how much they enjoyed being here, engaging with you all! A huge thank you to The Bowmen Foundation for donating our pizza dinner so that all of our families could eat for free! A special thank you to our PAC for serving dinner, Mrs. Bretsch for her help with organizing the event & our staff for their efforts in preparing activities, setting up for the event and staying late to clean up.
It really does take a village and we’ve got a pretty great one here at Hawks View!
OBOB Update
Our top two teams battled today - "The Reading Queens" and "Da G.O.A.T.S."
Da G.O.A.T.S. came away the champions and will go on to Regionals representing Hawks View in a few weeks. Congratulations to both teams!

Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Program
The Sherwood School District is excited to continue our Spanish/English Dual Language Immersion Program for the 2024-25 school year. We are in our fifth year of the program, and have classes in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade. A Dual Language Immersion Program has the goal of promoting bilingualism, bi-literacy, and socio-cultural competence.
Applications for each year’s new Kindergarten class as well as any other grade openings are accepted each spring. If you applied last year, you will remain on the waiting list and do not need to re-apply.
Steps to apply for the Dual Language Immersion Program
Enroll the student in the Sherwood School District-see our Enrollment Process Page.
Fill out the DLI Application-2024/2025 application-Opens March 7th after Kinder Open House
If accepted, sign and return the participation agreement.
Ramadan
Ramadan is observed Sunday, March 10th through Tuesday, April 9th this year. We know we have students at Hawks View who will participate in Ramadan. If a family is interested in making an alternative plan for their child(ren), particularly during lunch, please let us know. We are happy to partner with you!
National School Breakfast Week March 4th-8th
National School Breakfast Week celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to:
Reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math
Score higher on standardized tests
Have better concentration and memory
Be more alert
Maintain a healthy weight
Nutrition Services is celebrating by hosting a raffle contest! Next week, each student participating in School Breakfast will receive a raffle ticket (limit one entry per day). On Friday, we will draw the winner of this year's prize; a Pac-Man Pocket Player (provided by our partners at Domino's).
Happy National School Breakfast Week!
