MST Weekly Update
March 21, 2025

Good afternoon to all of our MST family members.
As we enter into the spring season, we a quickly approaching the end of the third quarter of the school year. The quarter ends on Monday April 7th. By the end of this marking period, students should be making sufficient progress in all of their classes.
With graduation now less than 3 months away, all who are planning to graduate must be making progress in all courses required for graduation. Many seniors only need to successfully complete an English class to meet graduation requirements, but several are significantly behind. Shorly after 3rd quarter report cards are published, letters will be sent home to the parent/guardian of any potential graduate who has fallen behind in one or more required classes.
Several end of the year activities have now been planned and the dates and times can be seen in the Important Dates section. More will be added as scheduled. As you can see, prom is scheduled for Friday May 9th, and students who plan on attending the prom must be present in school and in their classes on that day. Also in this edition, you will read about come MST award winners, opportunities to do community service work and information about raising money for MST by simply doing your grocery shopping.
On Tuesday March 25th, some construction work will be taking place at MST after school. All students must be out of the building by 2:30 that day. If they get picked up later than that, please plan on picking them up in the lower parking lot, or at another location. Students can wait inside of one of the portable classrooms if they prefer.

Project Happy Launched
Today, MST officially kicked off Project Happy when we met with all of our students in assemblies. Mr. Jack Potvin, the founder of Project Happy, was here to explain what Project Happy was all about and how important it is for students to become involved.
Project Happy is an online app that allows students to find and sign up for various community service activities in the Manchester area. More than 40 non-profit organizations are currently using the Project Happy app and listing their available volunteering opportunities.
Students must use a personal email to sign into the app, and they must get parental permission. School emails are not to be used. The app will not only provide students with a list of available opportunities, but it will also keep track of all completed hours that will be verified by the organization. Students will be able to print out a community service resume showing all of the hours that they have completed. Colleges and employers look very favorably at volunteer hours when determining college admission or hiring.
More information about the program can be found below, including details on how to apply to be a Project Happy Student Ambassador.
As a school, we have a goal to complete 500 hours by June 15th. We will also have some opportunities here at school such as a Walk Against Hunger in May, a campus cleanup in April and possibly some other activities as well. Students who volunteer with organizations that aren't on the list can also log their hours on the app as well.
Hannaford
From now through June 7th, Hannaford is once again having it's Hannaford Helps Schools campaign. This is an opportunity to give to MST by simply purchasing your weekly groceries.
When shopping, look for the Hannaford Helps shelf tags in-store (pictured) or the apple icon while shopping online with Hannaford To Go. When you buy 4 Participating Products you'll earn 3 School Dollars. If 100 families buy 4 products each week (3 School Dollars) for the entire program, our school will raise $3,300.
You'll receive your printed School Dollars with your receipt at checkout. School Dollars are easy to donate by downloading our app. Additional information and a link to download the app can be found by clicking: Hannaford Helps Schools | Hannaford Supermarket
