Our Wildcats (and staff!!) had the BEST time at our master sports event today - a huge thank you to everyone for supporting our fundraising goal and this wouldn't be possible without our coordinators and parent volunteers. But wait, the fun continues tonight at our Auction! Trust me, you do not want to miss this event. Join for a night of excitement, laughter, and maybe a little friendly bidding war. • ESS Enrollment: There is a new, centralized application management system for families interested in applying for before and/or after school program services through Extended Student Services (ESS). If you are interested in the program for the upcoming 2024-25 school year, please visit the ESS webpage for the latest information on the lottery draw and enrollment timeline. If you need help submitting an interest application or have questions about the ESS program, please send a message to enrollment-ess@powayusd.com.
• New Student Enrollment: Poway Unified School District is currently enrolling new students for the 2024-2025 school year! PUSD Enrollment is an on-line process. Packets are completed digitally using any computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection. You can contact your assigned school of residence to schedule an appointment if you do not have access to a device/internet or if you need assistance with completing the online enrollment packet. Please visit the PUSD Enrollment page for directions and access to the online enrollment portal.
• Universal TK at Poway Unified: For the 2024-25 school year, if your child's 5th birthday is between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025 (born between September 2, 2019 and June 2, 2020), you are eligible to enroll your child in Transitional Kindergarten! Beginning with the 2025-26 school year, PUSD will provide optional TK enrollment to all eligible 4 year olds within the Poway Unified School District. We are currently in the fourth year of a phased-in process.

It’s that time of the year where we get to celebrate our amazing staff at Sundance and show them our deep appreciation and gratitude in the lives of our students. This year’s theme is: “The Best of the West.” Students, room parents, and PAC will work together and spoil the staff with breakfast, snacks, thank you cards, catered luncheon, class gifts, Yogurtland treats, gift cards, and dressing up in their Best Western Wear. Please refer to the flyer for more information and look for an email from your room parents.

Tick-Tock! Time is running out to purchase your 2023-2024 Sundance Elementary Yearbook. Purchase your student’s yearbook by May 10th to get FREE SHIPPING to school and receive it in time for those end of the year class signing parties. Please refer to the flyer for more information.

The final weeks of Running Club are upon us! The final day that miles are counted towards the 100 Mile awards will be Wednesday, May 15th. 100 Mile awards will be given on Friday, May 17th, during the Friday Flag assembly. We have many 100-milers already and many who are so close. We hope to add up to 5 extra Running Club days if we have enough volunteers, please consider signing up to support one of these days if you are available.

We still haven’t hit our goal of hearing from 100 Sundance families, so make your voice heard! The district has informed us there will be budget cuts that will affect staffing. Let us know your priorities. Please take this short survey to support the Foundation budget planning for next year.

Join us on Monday, May 13th for the monthly Foundation meeting. We will be holding elections for the Foundation Officers & Board members for the ‘24-’25 school year and we still have positions available. All parents are welcome, join us in-person or you can access via Zoom here.

This was no ordinary Friday for our Sundance students, they enjoyed more than an hour of AWESOME outdoor fun during the Master Sports Field Day - the final Fun Run school-wide prize! The students participated in eight unique stations from Pedal Carts, an Inflatable Bootcamp Obstacle Course, Dodgeball Area and more for an event they won’t soon forget. Thank you to Jacki Congdon, Stephanie Warner & Laticia Waclawik, the Fun Run Co-Chairs and all the parent volunteers who made the Field Day possible!
