Happy Friday!
We had a wonderful week of learning! Third grade students have been busy doing animal research to prepare for their upcoming trip to the Toledo Zoo. The fourth grade students went to the DSO and heard a wonderful performance from our fifth grade band and orchestra students. This week's "Big Announcement" is our upcoming concert at West Bloomfield High School at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th. ALL fifth grade students will be singing, or performing with our fifth grade band or orchestra. We cannot wait to see you there!

Hello Parents and Caregivers,
Sheiko student art work will be on display at The Oakland Schools Building 2111 Pontiac Lake Rd, Waterford Twp, MI 48328 . If your child's work is chosen, you will be receiving a letter. This is an art show for kindergarten to high school for the West Bloomfield School District. Each art teacher in the district chooses 15 pieces of art to exhibit at the show.
There will be a reception on May 13 from 4:30 to 7:00. Families can view the art work at this time. If you can not make this time the building is open daily from 8:30 to 4:00 Monday to Friday. The show will be taken down May 30th and students will receive their work back at school. West Bloomfields artwork will be shown on the first floor only. IMPORTANT DISMISSAL INFORMATION
We are asking all families to use the car line. We have had some close calls with cars squeezing in between buses, and could not get the ambulance into the parking lot when needed, so we want to be sure that the bus loop is clear for safety reasons.
Thank you for your support!
PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We have an amazing opportunity to bring a new wellness and fitness program to our 3rd-5th grade students during recess called, Mileage Club. Mileage Club is a walking and running program that will be offered a few days a week during recess this spring. Students are encouraged to walk or run with friends during their recess time to earn small Toe Tokens and have fun!
A parent volunteer is needed to assist students in logging their laps, keeping track of student QR code lanyards, caring for the Mileage Club equipment and, most importantly, being an encouraging face as students take their laps. The parent volunteers are needed approximately 2.5 hours twice a week during the lunch/recess periods from 11:30-1:50.
Please email Mrs. McDowell at blaine.mcdowell@wbsd.org to express your interest in being a part of this amazing program for our kids. Mileage Club is sponsored by Lederman Kwartowitz Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine (LKO) in West Bloomfield.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS
Spring is upon us and students should be prepared for warmer/wetter weather. Please have your student bring extra clothes (pants & socks) to keep in their locker.
Please label everything. It will help eliminate the need for a Lost & Found table.
We are asking that students leave their smart watches at home. They have proven to be a huge distraction to teaching and learning. Students may have phones (but totally not necessary!) as long as they are powered down and in their backpacks. Students will have one reminder to put them away. Otherwise, these items will be turned into the office for parent pick up if they are out.Thank you for your support in this matter!
SICK POLICY INFORMATION
To protect all children from communicable illnesses, students infected with certain diseases are not allowed to come to school while they are contagious. Students should be symptom-free for 24 hours before returning to school. Please call our Safeline (248-865-6372) if your child will be absent from school. We also have a masking station at the front of the building in which students are welcome to help themselves. For more information regarding the sick policy, please see the attached document.
