CP News for December 5 , 2024
News for December 5, 2024
It is fun to see our students enjoying the snow, especially seeing the playful side of 5/6th graders sledding, but it is hard to see students cold and shivering at recess. Please make sure your student(s) is prepared for the weather every day. Many students have received warm winter gear thanks to the generous donations of the community and hard work of staff. It is important students have their outdoor clothes to spend 25-30 minutes outside daily.
Students will have report cards in their take home folders today. We celebrate the learning our students have done and look forward to what is to come. It is exciting to look at the progress students are making in every way. If you have questions, please connect with your student’s teacher. Thank you for all you do to support student learning and reinforce learning at home.

Lost and Found
Our lost and found is getting full. Please watch this quick video going through it and look at the pictures to see if your child’s belongings are in there. We will be donating all items at winter break.

A Message From Nurse Buck
A reminder on attendance as we start Trimester 2:
Research shows consistent attendance at school correlates with student achievement. In fact, missing 10% (or about 18 days) of a school year increases the chance that your student will not read or master math at the same level as their peers.
Coming to school on time is important because it allows students the opportunity to be part of the classroom community and to prepare for the learning activities for the day.
It’s important to stay until the end of every day because academic instruction is happening in classrooms right until dismissal.
Thank you for scheduling appointments before or after school when possible. If your student has a medical or dental appointment, please provide us with an attendance note from the provider. If your student has a reoccurring appointment, ask the provider for a letter stating when the appointments are and how long they will continue. We only need one letter for reoccurring appointments.
Winter is here! If you decide to keep your child home due to poor road conditions or bad weather, you must notify the attendance office.
Remember to call in absences when your student is not in school. Attendance phone: 651-259-1267. Attendance email: cp-attendance@isd623.org. Messages can be left anytime night or day.
