Library Books: End of the year cleanup
Please help your children locate and return overdue and/or “lost” Library books! It is so easy for things to be misplaced. Assist your child in locating a safe place to keep Library books at your home.
Winter Break Reading Challenge
Here is something FUN to remind students of the importance of reading. Complete this Winter Break Reading Bingo card (English or Spanish). Students perform 5 reading activities - across, down, or diagonal - and return it to the Library after Winter Break. Then their name will be entered into a raffle for a gift card!
Students have access to digital books and audiobooks 24/7. Readers may search and access titles through Destiny Discover or the Sora app. The Sora app can be found in “self-service.”
The month of December, our students are focusing on EMPATHY!
Please use these tools below to carry the conversation to your homes:

Healthy Living: Lead in Toys
Lead is a toxic substance that can harm children's health, especially their developing brains. Some toys, especially those that are imported or are antique toys, and toy jewelry may contain lead.
How to protect your child this holiday season:
- Check product labels: Look for labels that indicate the product is lead-safe. Imported toys are more likely to contain lead than toys made in the United States.
- Wash new toys: Before giving a new toy to your child, wash it with warm soapy water to remove any surface contaminants.
- Avoid second-hand toys: Toys made before the ban on lead paint in 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Therefore, painted antiques or collectible toys that are passed down through generations may contain lead.
