TUSD Family Resource Centers- October 2024
Family Resource Center services are available to TUSD students and their families, free of charge. Please call the center to register for classes. Childcare is available to TUSD students and siblings for most classes. Please inform staff of the need for childcare when you register. Include the number of children, ages, and any special needs. Interpreter services are available. Please inform staff of the need for an interpreter when you register. Please register at least two weeks in advance if interpreter services are needed.

2Gen Finance- Presented by Family Housing Resources
Join us for this financial foundation program that Family Housing Resources is offering. Parents/Guardians and Children (10-17 years old) are encouraged to participate and learn how to move families toward financial freedom and generational wealth together! Children must be accompanied by an adult. Families that attend all three sessions will be entered into a free drawing held at the end of the last session to win a great prize! Do You Need Health Insurance- Presented by The University of Arizona Health Education
The Arizona Center for Rural Health has certified navigators available to answer your questions about health insurance coverage. They can help you check eligibility for Medicaid/AHCCCS/KidsCare, Marketplace coverage, and financial assistance. These services are unbiased and provided free of charge. English Class for Adults- Presented by Literacy Connects
The Family Resource Centers have partnered with Literacy Connects to provide free Adult English classes for parents, guardians, or caregivers of TUSD registered students. English Language Acquisition for Adults (ELLA) helps parents learn and improve their English language skills. ELAA students come from more than 70 countries and have educational levels that vary from college graduates to those who do not read and write in their native language. All are welcome.

Free Health Screenings- Presented by Del Sol Research
Taking charge of your health now can lead to a healthier future. Del Sol Research provides free health screenings designed to catch potential health issues. Guiding Good Choices- Presented by the Children's Advocacy Center
STEP is a five-week program for parents and caregivers with children aged 9-14. You will learn to promote healthy habits, set guidelines, manage conflicts, and strengthen family bonds. Attendance is important, as each week builds on the lessons from the previous week. Program materials and incentives valued at over $75 will be offered. Kith & Kin Project- Presented by Candelen (SPANISH Class)
Candelen offers one of the most extensive support programs for family (kin), friend, and neighbor (kith) childcare, which is one of the country’s most common forms of caregiving. It usually includes relatives, friends, neighbors, and other adults caring for children in their home. Whatever role you play in the life of a child, our groups empower you to give kids the brightest start possible. Receive resources, materials and information on topics like:

Story Time School- Presented by Make Way for Books
"Let's Start Learning Together " is a free bilingual early reading program for children (birth to 5) and their caregivers. Story School is a scalable, innovative, two-generation model which means children and parents/guardians learn together and gain critical skills. Using books and stories as a primary tool of engagement, our model fosters children’s emergent literacy and language skills while empowering parents with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to create powerful learning experiences with their young children and integrate them into their routines at home. Study Smart Tutors
Study Smart Tutoring strives to prepare students for college, careers, and lifelong success. Through the Achievement Tutoring program, we can support students with math and reading schoolwork.
