Fall Student-Led Conferences
Fall conferences are on Oct. 15, 3:30-7:00, and Oct. 16, 3:30-7:00. Please join us for an opportunity to have a conversation between you, your student(s), and your student(s) teachers.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- You will receive a first quarter report card and your student's Fall MAP Assessment scores in the entrance area to each grade level.
- In your student's team area, you will sit a provided tables to have a conversation with your student using the two documents pictured below. Your student will have completed these papers in their homerooms before conferences.
- Conversation starter questions will be on the table to help guide some discussion.
- Team teachers will be located in team areas and are available for you as needed.
- Elective teachers will be in the Buffett Library.

Buffett Drama Production - James and the Giant Peach
Hello Buffett families! Do you love stories with adventure, heart, and abnormally large fruit? Then you're in luck! This year, Buffett Drama is performing James and the Giant Peach for our fall play. We would love for you and your family to join us on Friday, October 25th at 7pm on Saturday, October 26th at 2pm to watch James and his friends travel through land, air, and sea to a brighter, more magical world. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids. We can't wait to see you there!

Progress Reports
We are halfway through the first quarter already! Progress reports have been posted in Infinite Campus. This is a great time to see what areas need improvements before final grades are posted in October before Student-Led Conferences. Email teachers directly if you have specific questions about your child's grades.

Buffett Student Activities and Athletics
It is wonderful to see our Bobcats enjoying the after school athletics and activities. This week was the start of Robotics and Speech and Debate club along with Volleyball and Cross Country and Football practices. We have a busy week ahead, so check out the opportunities for your Bobcats on the Athletic and Activities calendar linked below.
We have student work available for viewing in our front office. Thankful for our Journalism students for their August Buffett Bugle! As you can see in the picture and attachment below, we have some amazing talent in our classrooms!
Bobcat Cheer
Buffett's newest group - Bobcat Cheer - have been making their appearances at sporting events the last couple of weeks. This group of Bobcats loves to pump every one up with their school spirit!

Notes from Meeting - September 9, 2024
PTO Mission: Partner in Buffett Middle's mission of high performing teachers and students in every classroom. We foster a supportive and inclusive community through championing resources, collaboration between parents, teachers and staff. Through our efforts, we encourage more cohesive communication that supports building stronger relationships, leading to enhanced student achievement, more enriching programs and a greater sense of community and belonging for everyone.

Overview of Meeting: Discussion of current and projected budget for 2024-25, feedback on family engagement nights, shared information on teacher grants, brainstormed PTO initiatives, discussed upcoming kick off for POP fundraiser (October 1), and review of upcoming events.
Nurse's Cabinet
Buffett PTO recently provided a variety of feminine hygiene products for our health office. These products will help to support our young students through Winter Break.
Snack Cabinet
Additionally, the PTO stocked our snack cabinet. These snacks are reserved for students who require additional snacks during the day per educational plans or have long waits for late bus.
