Carroll High School Weekly Community Newsletter

Message From The Principal
Greetings Tiger fam,
I hope that you and your families had a wonderful Spring Break! Although we were away from classes for a week, our Tigers were out in the community, traveling and representing us with great pride through performances, games, events, and more.
I would like to highlight a couple of notable achievements: our One Act Play advanced from the zone level to the district competition, and our boys' soccer team clinched their first playoff berth in over a decade! Theater performs at the District contest March 22nd in GP, and Boys Soccer plays here at Cabaniss this Thursday. Congratulations to these Tigers and all others who represented our school so well over Spring Break! A special thank you goes out to their coaches and sponsors who dedicate so much time and effort to the success of your children.
As we continue into the school year, time tends to fly by after Spring Break, and I expect this year to be no different. Senior parents, please check in with your children. Graduation is just around the corner, and for your Tiger to walk the stage, attendance and grades must be in order. We are working closely with our seniors to ensure they know where they stand and what they need to do. Expect communication from us regarding all things related to graduation!
We have another week packed with events. I am filled with TIGER PRIDE seeing our Tigers shine, and I am so thankful for your support from home! It takes a village to raise our Tigers, and we are doing amazing things together. Have a great week ahead!
Your Proud Principal,
Mr. Arredondo
Presenting TIGER NEWS - From the Perspective of our Tigers!
Points of Emphasis and Reminders
📢 Important Attendance & Tardy Policy Updates 📢
We need your support to ensure students are in class where they belong. To address excessive tardies, absenteeism, and skipping classes, we have implemented a new referral system to hold students accountable for their attendance that will include discipline consequences.
What This Means for Students:
- Excessive tardies and unexcused absences will result in disciplinary consequences.
- Skipping class will be addressed with escalating consequences.
- Students who miss too many days will be denied credit for their courses.
How You Can Help:
- Submit doctor’s notes or parent notes promptly to excuse absences
- Check your student’s attendance daily using the Home Access Center (HAC).
- Reach out for support – Mrs. Ortiz, our Parent Liaison, is available to assist
🍽️ Parent Lunch Visits – Important UPDATE: CLOSED CAMPUS THIS WEEK🍽️
This week we will be closed to visitors at lunch as we MOCK AP Test and Hold Mock EOC Testing. On Non testing weeks we will allow parents to join thier students on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Also, the only designated area for parent-student lunches is the Teaching Theater. When you arrive, a staff member will escort you to that location If the Teaching Theater is in use that day, parent lunch visits will not be permitted. We truly value having parents on campus and are putting this in place to ensure these visits can happen while maintaining the safety of our school. Thank you for your cooperation! 🍎
🎒 Clear Backpacks Required – Please Check Your Student’s Bag! 🎒
Parents, please help us ensure your student is following the district’s clear backpack policy. To maintain a safe and secure learning environment, all students must use a clear backpack each day.🚨 Non-clear backpacks will be confiscated for the day and returned to the student after school. To avoid any issues, please check your student’s backpack before they leave for school and remind them of this important policy. If your student needs a clear backpack, please contact the school for assistance.
Dress Code Reminder: 🧣
A reminder to stay in dress code and know that we are enforcing the dress code. If a student is out of dress code, they will be sent to ISS until a change of clothes can be provided.
Common Violations to Avoid:
- No crop tops or midriff-baring shirts (jackets can’t be used to cover them).
- No BLANKETS, pajama pants, or slippers.
- Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be no more than a dollar bill’s length above the knee.
Thank you for helping us keep a positive and focused learning environment!
