How Do You Measure Success?
1. Leadership Drives Vision Into Reality
Successful mission work is when the nationals take ownership and carry on the vision. This is what happened in 2020. Haitian director, Jhanson, led the charge, developing the land into a fruitful paradise in the sea of sugarcane fields. Hundreds of papaya, banana, plantain and pineapple trees were planted. The 1/4 acre vegetable plot expanded to 1 1/2 acres of beautiful gardens. It's even more incredible that all of this work is done by hand with hoes and machetes. Our hard-working team turned vision into reality.
2. When You Create Something Out Of Nothing
"We didn't think vegetables could grow in this region". That was the resounding comment made from the ladies who came to buy our vegetables to resell at the local market. This was high praise as we demonstrate that Farming God's Way works. The dirt is being revitalized into fertile, life-giving, productive soil. And seeing is believing. One goal of FARM Haiti is to be a local source of organic, healthy food and the vegetables are our advertising.
