Emerson Update 02/28/25
20 Days Until Spring!!!
EMERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL MISSION
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE 02/28/25
Dear Emerson Families,
As we bid farewell to February and welcome the promise of spring, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful things happening within our school community.
Our wrestling team concluded their season with a thrilling showing at the City Meet! We are incredibly proud of their dedication, sportsmanship, and the exciting matches they delivered. Congratulations to all our wrestlers and coaches for a fantastic season!
This week, we kicked off our annual flower fundraiser! This is a wonderful opportunity to brighten your homes and gardens while supporting our school. We encourage everyone to take advantage of the beautiful selection available.
We deeply value our partnership with you, our Emerson families. Next Tuesday, we will be hosting our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences virtually from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This is a crucial opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and discuss their progress. Please remember that sign-ups are closing soon, so be sure to secure your time slot if you haven’t already.
Looking ahead to next week, our counseling department will begin the important process of 8th-grade course selection with our 7th-grade students. This is a significant step in their academic journey, and our counselors are committed to providing guidance and support as they make their choices.
Thank you for your continued support and engagement. We are truly fortunate to have such a dedicated and involved community.
With Eagle Pride,
Bruce Rivera

Book Swap changes to a Book Blast!
The Emerson Library accepts donations of new and used books, games, legos, puzzles, craft supplies (including new and used greeting cards), leftover decorating items such as streamers and balloons, and items that could be used as student prizes and giveaways (students loved the beanie babies that were donated this year!). We also would accept individually wrapped snacks for book discussions.
Ramadan - Alternative Lunch Location
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, we want to ensure that all our students feel supported and comfortable during the school day. We understand that some of our students may be fasting and may prefer an alternative space during lunch or other meal times.
To accommodate their needs, we will be providing a designated space where fasting students can go during these times. This space will be available throughout Ramadan for students who choose to use it. Students will need to sign up in advance.
The sign-up will be located in the cafeteria starting next week.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for your support in fostering an inclusive and respectful school environment.

🩺 Not Feeling Well? Here's a Checklist...
Student Handbook and Code of Conduct
Emerson Student Handbook & Code of Conduct
- This has been updated for the 2024-20254 school year.
- It can be accessed HERE.
- Please partner with us by reminding students that cell phones and electronics should be "AWAY FOR THE DAY"!
- All students must keep bags and backpacks in their lockers.
- We do not allow Hats and/or Hoodies to be worn during the school day.
A few key things to note:
The Livonia Parent Advisory Committee (LPAC) seeks parent representation from each Livonia Special Education Program. Parent representative volunteers have a child/children with a disability(ies). The LPAC also provides advisory input on matters regarding improvement of Special Education services within our school district.
Our Facebook page shares information of interest to our families and students.
Here, you will find electronic flyers for programs and events geared toward kids!
We hope that you enjoy the many offerings from around our great community!
If you have a program that you'd like to advertise, please email your flyer to Stacy Jenkins at sjenkins3@livoniapublicschools.org for approval. We follow a set of guidelines for approval and are only able to accept flyers for non-profit organizations that benefit our local children.
Enjoy!
Emerson Clubs
Emerson Middle School has several clubs where students can connect with their peers, learn a new skill, or simply hang out with friends. We've had a volleyball club, robotics club, GSA club, walking club, Pokemon club and homework club. We would love to offer something for everyone! Our club list is always growing, and we're always open to new ideas. If your student has a dream club in mind or if you'd like to be an awesome advisor, let us know! Joining a club is a great way to make new friends, learn new skills, and have a blast!
