Did you miss the deadline to pay for an AP exam?
😕 Bad News - There will be a $40 late fee on top of the exam fee.
- Exam Fees: $40 or $20 if student qualifies for the Free & Reduced Lunch program
AP Course/Exam Fun Facts
- 👀 81% of AP exam takers earned a 3 or higher in 2024! 👀
- The rigor in an AP course is similar to a college level course.
- AP exams are 100% optional and have no bearing on a student's grade in the AP course.
- Students will decide to take and pay for their AP exam in October but don't test until May.
- AP exams cost $40 or $20 if a student is on the Free and Reduced lunch list.
- A student is welcome to challenge any AP exam, even if they are not taking the course.
- Colleges usually award college credit for an exam score of 3, 4, or 5.

JUNIORS ONLY SCHOLARSHIP - Legacy Scholarship
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a current high school junior living in Bexar County or Webb County.
- Attend a high school located in Bexar County or Webb County.
- Proven leadership qualities and passion for community involvement.
- Attend a Texas university/college after high school graduation.
- If awarded, students must plan to attend an information session and will be invited to participate in college success events.

Charles Butt Scholarship
The Charles Butt Scholarship is exclusively for students committed to a teaching career in the Texas public school system in either a Title 1 school or in a shortage subject area (math, science, bilingual, or special education).
The Charles Butt Scholarship for Aspiring Teachers – one component of the Raising Texas Teachers initiative – is designed to encourage promising students to consider a future in the teaching profession. The scholarship consists of $8,000 or $10,000 in annual funding, as well as ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship from public school educators, and participation in a statewide network of aspiring teachers.

49th Annual SWE High School Conference
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter at Texas A&M University invites all high school juniors and seniors interested in learning about the Texas A&M College of Engineering to register for the 49th Annual SWE High School Conference, Dragons: Riders of Aggieland!
The SWE High School Conference will be held The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter at Texas A&M University invites all high school juniors and seniors interested in learning about the Texas A&M College of Engineering to register for the 49th Annual SWE High School Conference, Dragons: Riders of Aggieland!
The SWE High School Conference will be held Friday, January 24th through Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. During the conference, students will participate in innovative STEM design challenges, classroom and lab tours, and a college fair with the various departments of the College of Engineering. In addition, students will learn about the Texas A&M admissions process and Aggie traditions.
To attend this conference, there is a required registration fee of $50 for students and $30 for parents and teachers. Registration payment for the Texas A&M University SWE High School Conference is available NOW on the SWE TAMU website: www.swetamu.com/high-school-conference. Registration will close on Sunday, December 15th, 2024. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after Sunday, December 22nd, 2024.
There are 100 open registration spots for students and 20 open registration spots for parents/teachers. These spots will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis as we receive completed registration information and payment. Students under the age of 18 cannot register on their own and must have their legal parent/guardian register for them.
Unfortunately, SWE is unable to provide overnight accommodations for the duration of the conference. Participants and their parents or guardians are responsible for finding their own accommodations. We will provide lodging recommendations during the registration process. A parent or an approved adult must be present for all check-in and check-out procedures. Attendees under 18 will not be allowed to leave on their own.
Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy (Available for FRESHMEN only.)
Conduct biomedical research as a high schooler with the Voelcker Biomedical Research Academy! This prestigious three-year internship at UT Health Science Center at San Antonio offers selected students the chance to engage in authentic research each summer, working alongside leading faculty mentors on projects with potential for publication. Through this immersive program, you’ll gain invaluable insight into the medical field, while developing skills in biomedical research, clinical like suturing and casting, leadership, and more! Join a small, dedicated cohort of around 20 scholars from across the whole city of San Antonio and the surrounding parts, creating lifelong connections with peers who share your passion for medicine and research.
