VL: Assessment Capable
1st Grade: Manor Hill
Tracking our Learning in 1st Grade
1st Graders at Manor Hill are working to own their math learning with the help of Moby Max, an adaptive learning program aimed at finding and closing learning gaps. These first graders are developing their ability to be assessment capable as they are tracking where they are on their personal math journey.
Learning Land
This Learning Land board is a tracking tool to help all of 1st grade see where they are going on their math learning journey. Each student has a "game piece" they will move along the path as they successfully master skills. They are labeled as "lands" instead of grade levels, but each skill is explicitly labeled for students to see where they are currently and where they are headed next. Students have a similar game board in their data notebooks where they are tracking on a smaller scale.
Students are getting a briefing on how Learning Land will work.
Students keep personal tracking pages in their data notebook.
Their personal tracking will relate to the grade level tracking on the larger Learning Land board.
